Summer is here, and everyone is going outdoors to enjoy the beautiful weather. Summertime offers great opportunities for outdoor activities that are healthy and bring families together. Everyone should remember to practice sun safety while enjoying the outdoors. Along with wearing sunscreen and staying indoors during the hottest part of the day, another great way to do this is with sun safe clothes!

Sun safe clothes are made in such a way as to block the sun's damaging rays. This allows you to enjoy the outdoors while lessening the chance of skin cancer. If you haven't been able to find sun safe clothing in your area, don't worry, there are quite a few online retailers ready to help. Here are some places online where you can find sun safe clothes:

1. Sun Precautions was founded by Shaun Hughes, a melanoma survivor. His sun safe clothing line is approved by the FDA for sun protection.

2. Sun Safe not only offers sun safe clothing, but information about sun protection.

3. Radicool Australia offers free shipping to all countries on their sun safe swimwear.

4. Stingray is a premier Australian company that has been offering sun safe clothing since 1986.

5. SunGrubbies.com offers a wide range of sun safe clothing including some harder to find items such as sun safe gloves and neck drapes. They also offer plus sized items.

6. Coolibar boast that their sun safe clothes were the first recommended by The Skin Cancer Foundation.

7. Ayana offers stylish sun safe clothing. They have recently partnered with The Sun Safety Alliance and made a new bamboo t-shirt line.

8. Sun Friendly Products offers sun safe clothing along with umbrellas, sun safe stroller covers, and other sun protection products.

9. Solartex offers sun safe clothing from a few different manufactures. They even have baby sun glasses.

10. Sun Protected. Com offers swimwear, hats, and sun safe clothing. Their site also has sun safety information.

Online retailers have everything you need to stay safe this summer. Their sun safe clothing lines are stylish, protective, and easy to acquire. You are sure to find any item of sun safe clothing you require at one or the other of the websites listed.

Keeping safe is of utmost importance. Take the time to learn about sun safe clothing and the ways it can benefit your health. Pass along the knowledge to friends, colleagues, and family. Be prepared and have a safe, healthy summer.

Skin cancer is on the rise for young women ages 15 to 39, it is being diagnosed thicker and later stage, this is very, very serious. Everyone should practice and role model sun protective practices; cover up with clothing, wear a broad brimmed hat, seek shade and avoid tanning salons. I am a malignant melanoma survivor and I have teamed up with the Abramson Cancer Center of the University of Pennsylvania in getting the word out about the dangers of sun exposure. I am an artist/designer and I designed a sun safe clothing line so I could still go out in the sun. These are fun, fashion with a designer flair in vibrant colors.
