10 Potential Plotlines that Would Rock the House on Glee

Will Schuester's Raging Hormones and the Betrayal of New Directions May Destroy the Glee Club Forever

As "American Idol" was winding down in 2009, Fox Broadcasting unveiled the pilot for a little show called "Glee." Nearly one year later, "Glee" has turned red hot, making it cool once again to be a geek, or "Gleek", if you will. As the show prepares to close out its freshman season, here are some potential plotlines that could appear in the last several episodes:

Will Schuester and his feet of clay: Is Sue Sylvester becoming Darth Vader to Will Schuester's Luke Skywalker? After battling his nemesis for months, Mr. Shue now is showing signs of going over to the Dark Side. Now separated from his wife, Schuester began a relationship with the pretty Emma Pillsbury, but after she reveals her virginal status, he makes out with a music teacher from a rival school. These are not the actions of an honorable hero, so it will be interesting to see where Mr. Shue's hormones take him on "Glee."

Will Schuester's suppressed feelings for Rachel: Fending off Rachel's feelings for him in the first 13 episodes of "Glee," Mr. Schuester actually may have been suppressing his own feelings. Talented performer Idina Menzel plays Shelby Corcoran, the coach of Vocal Adrenaline and the one that got up close and personal with Mr. Shue. Menzel looks like a more mature version of Rachel, and while Schuester resisted Rachel's charms, he was all over the adult version.

Shelby Corcoran and Rachel: Mother/Daughter? On Tax Day, E! Online dropped some major hints that Shelby Corcoran and Rachel could be mother and daughter. As mentioned above, the resemblance between Corcoran and Michele is impossible to ignore.

Emma Pillsbury: "Good Girls Don't"..or do they?: After admitting that she has never been intimate with a man, Emma Pillsbury, the impossibly cute "Glee" guidance counselor, indicates that Will is the one to change all that. This would set the stage for a great episode about high school virginity, including cover versions of the Knack's "Good Girls Don't" and Billy Joel's "Only the Good Die Young."

The Wrath of Terri Schuester: On the April 13 episode, Will Schuester's estranged wife Terri and Emma set the stage for a major smack-down that sure to happen before the season end of "Glee." As Emma set the table for a cozy dinner with Will, Terri appeared to get a few more of her things, and the conversation was not polite. These two pretty women are going to get pretty ugly fighting over Mr. Schuester, but will Mr. Shue choose the right woman?

Rachel finally reaching her limit on "Glee": In many ways, Will Schuester is not the ideal person to lead the Glee Club. Still missing his own glory days, Schuester doesn't remind his teenage charges that high school is not the end of the world. Rachel, the backbone of the Glee Club, has endured more verbal abuse and heartbreak than a dozen other girls her age. She has real talent, and it would be great to see her get an opportunity to shine without taking any guff...or another Slurpee in the face. Schuester needs to nurture Rachel even more or she will become a lost cause.

The plot to bring down New Directions: "Glee" focuses on the members of New Directions, the Glee Club coached by Will Schuester. Mr. Shue's efforts have paid off, and New Directions is poised as a threat to Shelby Corcoran's prestigious Vocal Adrenaline. To that end, Corcoran has dispatched Jesse St. James, a star vocalist, to romance Rachel and cause dissension within the membership of New Directions.

The taming of "Shrew" Sylvester: Can anyone, even uber coach Sue Sylvester, be mean and nasty 24/7? "Glee" will hopefully introduce something or someone that will take that bitter edge off Jane Lynch's character, at least for an episode or two.

Two major Broadway stars in a "Glee" story arc: Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel helped make "Wicked" a Broadway smash, and they have helped supercharge "Glee." It would be great to see these two performers in a story arc similar to their roles in "Wicked."

Terri and Will Schuester's divorce: Will Schuester attracts women, and after some heavy makeout sessions with Emma Pillsbury and Shelby Corcoran on "Glee," it seems that Terri and Will should appear in divorce court by the end of Season 1. Terri could, however, unleash a bombshell (a real pregnancy for example) before the end of the final episode.
