10 Reasons Associated Content Producers Should Help One Another

Offer Your Fellow Writer a Hand and You Will Benefit

Sarah Holmes
I have noticed many content producers on the forums with a competitive attitude. Although nice, these editors are treating the website like a competitive game rather than a cooperative effort. I believe it is vital that writers use a cooperative effort in order to enhance payment on Associated Content. Here are ten reasons I believe this to be true.

Creating a Quality Website
Associated Content uses adwords to make money. In order to pay us, Associated Content needs to be making money on the articles submitted. If we help one another create better quality content, Associated Content will have the resources to pay well for the content. Therefore, you may be creating high quality content, but if your fellow associated content producers are creating poor quality articles, Associated Content will not be losing money and will not have the continued resources to pay for the content.

Give and It Will Be Given Unto You
It is easy to think that your sources will help you have the competitive edge. However, we all have unique resources that help us. You may have a unique resource that helps you, but I may have a unique resource that will help you too. If we hoard resources, we may find that having one resource is not as beneficial as having two. By sharing you increase the amount of resources you have access to exponentially. As with everything else, you will have more people sharing with you if you are sharing with them. If we share resources, we will have more information to enhance our writing skills.

There are Other Paying Markets
Associated Content is merely a stepping stone to get where you are going. If you are pursuing a professional writing career like I am, there will be more paying markets as your writing improves. This is something I have heard from writers more accomplished than I am. I am taking their word for it. As I have heard from professionally paid writers, "Not only are there lots of paying markets out there....many of them pay better than Associated Content."

Resources Aren't Scarce
You may know of a good spell-check or word count tool, but someone else can easily find the tool by typing it into a search engine (or something very similar). You are only kidding yourself if you believe resources are scarce.

Others Will Share
If you hoard your knowledge, others are very likely to come along and share "the secret" to other content producers before you do. When this happens, they are paid for the article and your upcoming article will be rejected. Why not share what you know before someone else does?

You Have the Opportunity to Be An Expert
If you share worthwhile information, people will read your articles. By creating a knowledge niche, people will want to read your content. Everyone loves someone who is generous. So if you give away information that can easily be found on the internet, you will be someone's hero. It is very likely they will read your other articles too!

Associated Content Has The Answers
Much of the information you have privy to is common knowledge to those who work at Associated Content. Associated Content is pretty good about answering e-mails too. Any content producer can fire off an e-mail to a content manager with a question and get a response back in a matter of days. Now others will know something you thought you were privy to.

Regular Readers
By sharing information you know that others won't easily access, you will create a following for your writing. By writing content that others read, enjoy and learn from, you will likely create regular readers who will subscribe to your articles and read every article you write. If you are willing to only share information that is common knowledge, this is not likely to happen.

Broad Reader Base
There are lots of people on Associated Content interested in writing better articles. If you write articles that help other content producers get paid more or write better quality articles, you will have a broader reader base. By broadening your reader base, you will increase your page views. By increasing your page views, you will net a higher profit.

Making Friends
Everyone loves someone who shares. If you share useful information, people will enjoy subscribing to and reading your work. Perhaps a lot of new content producers will read your articles that are not knowledgeable about tools to create better content. However, these new content producers may have information and tips about repairing a roof or the secret to reducing your credit card rate. If you share what you know with them, they are likely to share what they know with you.

I know I said "10", but here is a Bonus Reason:

Articles You Want to Read
By helping other writers write better quality articles, you will find that Associated Content becomes a terrific source of unique and useful information! Why not help other writers enhance their ability and help make the Associated Content website the resource it was intended to be?

Great article, Sarah! I've noticed some folks log in and "talk trash" or spam decent, well-written articles. I always try to let the author know, and point out how they can delete BS comments. I've only had to do it once (so far.) Personally, I think a criticism is valid only if you're willing to sign your name and provide a valid email along with it. I also think it's important to delete the spam stuff. Your top ten and the bonus were all great advice and I enjoyed the pointers! Thanks.

I agree with you, Sarah. I am constantly running ideas by other CP's, asking them questions and for advice and they do the same for me too. It helps to create a friendlier atmosphere and a more professional place to write.

I agree and, overall, I think we do a pretty good job of supporting one another. I know I have a lot of friends here who have my back and I'll return the favor every single time.
