Make Money Through Revenue Sharing
Squidoo offers a revenue sharing system that will allow you to make money from your lenses. What does that mean? Well, on every lens you publish, Squidoo will add some Google AdSense advertisements. For every click-through you receive on your lens, you will receive a percentage of the advertisement money. Also, there are some revenue generating modules that you can add to your lens. Currently, you can sell Amazon, E-bay and CafePress items through your lens. You will receive commissions on every sale made through your lens. These combined will
Donate to Charities
If you have a passion for a specific charity, you can donate a portion or the entirety of the money generated from your lenses to a charitable partner of Squidoo. If your favorite charity is not yet a partner and meets the qualifications to apply, contact a representative of the charity about partnering with Squidoo. Click here for more information. (Hint: I like to choose my charities based on the topic of the page. For example, my Doris Day lens donates a portion of revenue to rescuing animals because she is such an animal lover herself.)
Hone your Writing Skills
If you are interested in making money writing online, perhaps you would want to use the instant publication process of Squidoo modules as a sort of playground for writing. You can interact with other writers and learn the basics of how to share information online in a format that is quick and easy for the reader to understand and utilize.
Learn about SEO
Whether you intend to or not, you might learn about search engine optimization along the way as you build, develop, and maintain your lenses. You will innately discover the changes that help boost your lensrank within the Squidoo framework and those that drop your lensrank. This asset can generalize to other online pursuits making your content in other ventures, like AC, more profitable.
Share your Knowledge or Passion with the World
The owner and creator of Squidoo believes that everyone has something that they are an expert in. Personally, I believe that not only does everyone have something they are an expert in, but everyone has something that they are an expert in that they feel no one else will want to hear about. Squidoo is your forum to share your information, knowledge, and passion in your area of expertise in an unintrusive way. You can add to the lens or edit it at any time to reflect new knowledge you gain or developments in the niche. In many ways, this allows you to have your soap box. Whatever you want to focus the reader on, you can! Talk about power! And even if no one in the world reads it (which is highly unlikely!), you will at least have the satisfaction of putting your two cents in the big melting pot that is the internet.
Generate Traffic to Your Blog, Website, or Other Articles
Many people using Squidoo already have at least one other online stream of income. They use Squidoo not only for the revenue sharing benefits, but for the opportunity to point people towards their own blog, website, or other articles. Since Squidoo is very Google-friendly, it is highly possible that someone will find a Squidoo lens on the subject and be directed to a lesser known resource that way. So, why not take advantage of the traffic building site and use it to "pre-sell" whatever you have to offer your clients? Or use it to direct traffic to a place on the web that you will benefit from? I used this tactic when trying to draw more traffic to my article on St. Patrick. I made a quick Squidoo lens about him that offered a little teaser info and a linkback. The result? Increased page views!
Allows You to Create a Website with Little to No Technical Computer Knowledge
Have you ever considered building a website and then realized how much you didn't know about domain names, hosting, html, etc.? Well, with Squidoo, you don't have to know any of that. All you need to supply is the content. The layout will practically build itself with modules ready to go, built and maintained by the Squidoo Team. How easy does that sound?!
Affiliate Marketing Without the Headache of a Website
Not only do you not have to know the technical stuff of building and maintaining a website, you still get all the perks of having your own site- including affiliate marketing! This means that if you have an affiliate URL, you can easily embed it in your lens and get paid full commissions from any sales resulting from your link. If you carefully utilize your link to pre-sell the item, offering lots of content and free information before presenting the product, your earning potential is through the roof!
It's FREE, so why not try it?
In case I didn't mention it before, Squidoo is completely free. You will never have to pay a dime to them for anything. In fact, they offer you money for revenue generated from any lens you create.
It's Addictive!
This might be as much as a warning as it is a reason to join, but the truth is that Squidoo is addictive! In just the two weeks since I joined Squidoo, I have published ten lenses, and I currently have twenty that I am working on!
So, how do you join? Click here, fill out your information and simply follow directions. Feel free to send me a message if you have any trouble signing up or getting your first lens published! Once you've joined, send me (cherangelry) a message through Squidoo so I can see your new lens, rate it, become a fan of yours, and give you some feedback. Squidoo is all about helping each other succeed, so that's what I want to do!
