10 Reasons that Hybrid Cars Are on the Cutting Edge of Car Techology
Why You Too Should Purchase a Hybrid Vehicle
Hybrids Get Better Gas Mileage
Hybrids are designed to get better gas mileage than cars that use gas. Although this is true, someone could buy a Hybrid SUV, and the miles per gallon would be less than if you drove a Honda Civic Car that is not. Only comparable makes and models can be compared. Either way, hybrids do get better gas mileage than their gas powered counter-parts and for most consumers, it is reason enough to own one.
Tax Credits
Although there are no current plans for tax credits on purchase or owning a hybrid, there has been some tax credits in the past. These same programs may come back periodically if implemented by the Federal government.
Technology
Hybrids use a new technology and most of them include a monitor control panel to monitor gas consumption and a rear backup camera. As you drive, the car computes your fuel consumption. I'm a techie, and absolutely love trying to do better and better with my gas mileage when I start driving my hybrid. The technology of the car, is incredible.
Saving the Planet
We all know that by using less gas, we are saving the planet. Hybrids use part battery power, and part gas power. Although they are still using gas, their gas consumption is less than traditional cars. In addition the emissions that they emit are much less since they use battery power.
Trendsetter
Do you want to be the trendsetter on your block? Do you typically want a car that not everyone has? If so, this car is for you. Although having hybrids are quickly becoming more popular, they are on the cutting-edge of technology. Having a hybrid will set you apart as a trendsetter.
Incentive Purchase Plans with Low Interest
I thought there would never be a time when I could get a low interest rate on purchasing a hybrid. I am glad to say that I was sorely mistaken. By waiting, I was able to purchase a Toyota Prius with 0% financing. With a weak economy, car dealers are looking to move inventory, which translates to incentives for car buyers. By staying on the pulse of the car market, you can get just as good of a deal on purchase of a hybrid.
Car Dealers Need to Sell Cars
With a weak car economy, car dealers need to sell cars. This means that if you are in the market to buy a car, you have all the cards in your hand. There are several purchase incentives that revolve around financing incentives, special interest rates, or even government programs that will give you money for your old car to buy a brand new one. What's better than that!
Design
Although some hybrids have similar design styles to traditional vehicles, most hybrids have a design that is not traditional style. My Prius has a curved, aero-dynamic body style that is very cutting edge. Hybrids also have fuel panels that are electronic and computerized. These designs, are futuristic and very appealing.
No More Waiting
Before the economy began it's downfall, several different hybrids had waiting lists for purchase. Car dealerships couldn't get the cars soon enough. They would be sold before they hit the floor room. One dealership I worked with told me I would have to pay them $500 to put my name on a waiting list for a hybrid! These lines are gone. They need to sell cars, and now is the time to buy.
Keys Are a Thing of the Past
Most hybrids use sensor technology. If you have trouble keeping track of your keys when you are driving, hybrids will ease this problem by using a sensor technology. As long as your keys are within the area of the car, it will start and allow you to drive. I typically place my keys in my purse and never have to take them out of my purse. As long as they are inside the car at all times, I use my car, and don't have to worry about taking out my keys. The car can also be locked using sensors on the door. Simply touch a sensor and the car locks, quick and easy.
Although I was hesitant to purchase a hybrid, I have not looked back. I can't imagine life without my hybrid and look forward to more hybrid cars in my life down the road. I'm not looking back.
