10 Reasons Why Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Should Be More Magical Than the Previous Films

After a fairly lackluster summer, moviegoers are hoping that the holiday movie season will deliver some big screen blockbusters. Fans of J.K. Rowling's famous teenage wizard are especially looking forward to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1, which opens nationwide on November 16. Details about the film are still cloaked in secrecy, but here are 10 reasons to get your wand ready:

It is the first two-part Harry Potter movie: J.K. Rowling packs a lot of information into her novels, which makes them especially hard to cram into 150 minutes of screen time. Potter fans can breathe a sigh of relief because the final showdown between Harry and Lord Voldemort has earned two full-length feature films.

Director David Yates is back behind the camera. David Yates handled the screen adaptations of two of Rowling's darker stories, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Yates now tackles the darkest of all 7 books, but he gets two films to tell the story. The Deathly Hallows saga, therefore, has got to be good.

The epilogue to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Most Harry Potter books end with Harry heading home to spend a month with his dreadful relatives, the Dursleys. Deathly Hallows contains an epilogue that is far more satisfying than the other novels and, according to Cinemablend.com, Yates has included that important sequence in Part 2.

The Harry Potter/Ginny Weasley relationship. After lusting after her hero for the better part of 5 books, Ginny Weasley finally gets her man in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Yates did not have enough time in the previous film to explore their relationship, but hopefully Bonnie Wright, the actress who plays Ginny, will get more screen time in Deathly Hallows.

Hermione and Ron finally lock lips. Ever since Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, ultra-smart Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, Harry's best mate, have fought side-by-side and with each other. Deathly Hallows finally shows how they really feel about each other and promises to show their first passionate kiss.

Dobby the House Elf. Due to time and budget constraints, Dobby, a House Elf who is devoted to Harry, has not appeared on screen since Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Dobby makes a triumphant comeback during Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, though. Kreacher, another notable House Elf, also is on hand.

Neville Longbottom kicking some serious butt. J.K. Rowling filled Harry Potter's world with some colorful characters, and one of the most interesting is Neville Longbottom. A somewhat inept young wizard, Longbottom turns into a skilled fighter after facing the dark wizards who crippled his parents. Rowling gave Neville Longbottom a chance to shine in her final book, so here's hoping he also kicks some major butt in the film adaptation of Deathly Hallows.

Several notable deaths. Rowling created a dangerous world for Harry and his friends, and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows contains more than one significant character death, including the demise of a supporting character that has been around since the very beginning of the series.

Multiple Harry Potters. The teaser trailers and stills show Harry riding shotgun on Hagrid's flying motorcycle. In the Deathly Hallows novel, Hagrid was escorting Harry to a safe location while 6 of his friends use polyjuice potion to act as decoys. The transformation sequence and multiple Harry Potters should definitely be fun to watch.

The final showdown between Harry Potter and Lord Voldemort. Harry has spent the better part of his adolescence fighting Lord Voldemort and his band of Death Eaters. After looking over his shoulder for six adventures, Potter has his ultimate duel to the death with Voldemort in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1 opens nationwide on November 16, 2010. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 opens nationwide on July 15, 2011.
