10 Reasons Why We Should Not Cook at Home

WRITER
Numerous people do not like to cook at home. It is to time consuming. You have to go to the store to buy the food you will need to cook. Then you have to prepare and cook the food. After eating there is always cleaning involving with all the plates and pots. That is a lot of work and can take up to 2 to 3 hours of your precious time. That is the reason we love to go get something to eat really quick at a local restaurant. Get in and eat then get out and go rest up for tomorrow. Here are 10 reasons you should not cook at home.

1) If you ever noticed your grocery bill small things can really add up. If you have an average of four people to feed in you family you will need to buy a lot of supplies. Four chicken breasts can cost you up to $15.00. Pick up some vegetables and rice for additional $5.00 and the drink for $3.00. With the electric and paper towels, gasoline and miscellaneous items you will be looking at roughly $30.00 per meal. You can go to a casual restaurant and spend about $40.00 or less and eat for the four of you. There are many restaurants with entrees under $10.00.

2) Cooking at home is very time consuming. For a family that both parents work full time it can be a drain. Having to run to the store and buy all the food and cooking it can lead to more stress. By the time you are done cooking and cleaning you will be too tired to spend some valuable time with your family.

3) Going to a restaurant with your family will help your family bond. You are spending more time out of the house with your family. There you can talk to your kids and not have to worry about cleaning up after them.

4) When we are cooking at home we might not follow all the proper sanitation rules. Have to admit we are not all Master Chefs. There are more chances in cross contamination and food borne illness.

5) Life can get too much in a routine. Coming home cooking, eating and cleaning. It is the same thing everyday. Add some excitement try different restaurants out and live the life of surprises.

6) Your food may not be good. Everyone tells you dinner is great. However, I have told my mother and father the same thing because I did not want to hurt their feelings. The truth is sometimes you added too much pepper or salt.

7) If you cook something at home and it turns out bad you will have to pay once again to remake that food. If you go to a restaurant and your food is bad your entrée will be replace for something better at no cost.

8) Enjoy your life and live like a King or Queen. Have someone serve and clean up after you.

9) It gives you time to bond with your spouse. Since there is no cleaning you can just sit next to your spouse and relax or watch a movie.

10) You work so hard for your money everyday. Enjoy a little and spend some money sometimes.

LOL! You could give a 100 reasons.. but I enjoy cooking and my family loves my cooking, which of course makes it that much more enjoyable to do.. but I do enjoy a occasional break from the kitchen and a nice dinner out!

I'm with Britt and and Kay on this one, man! My wife and I eat out when we come home too tired. We both love to cook (as I am sure you do), and we make our meals as if they're works of art, even if it's only burgers and fries! And it saves us a LOT of money as well. However, I am with you all the way when it comes to cleaning uP!

I definitely agree with Kay, for penny-pinchers, cooking at home is definitely the way to go. Not only is it fun to do something I enjoy, I love sharing my cooking with others. It makes me feel awesome when my boyfriend loves my cooking. I'd rather hear him say it to me than a fast food cook. Save money...stay at home and cook, and enjoy it with someone. Not even eating at a restaurant compares to that.

Dude, where are you buying chicken? :-) It's 2 bucks a pound here- which means a $6 dollar package will give us two meals plus leftovers. (Sometimes it goes on sale for as low as 49 cents a pound.) Sometimes it's nice to treat yourself to a meal at a restaurant, but for penny-pinchers like me, cooking at home on a regular basis is the best way to stick to a budget.
