10 Sexiest Sistahs of Sitcoms

Today when I signed on my AOL account I saw in the entertainment clips Maxim's Sexiest Girls of Sitcoms. Natural I click on it to see who they thought was sexy. Before I go further I do understand beauty or sexuality for that matter is in the eye of the beholder. I do understand who was compiling this list and who their audience is. That said I found it outlandish that they was one woman of color on this list

Above the list I saw the words, "We found the perfect combination of hot and hilarious. But mostly hot." I do understand what sells magazines, and I wasn't mad to see Pamela Anderson Lee's name up there, she even got a mention in Jay Z's song, Big Pimpin' -"On a canopy, my stamina be enough for Pamela Anderson Lee..."

So like everything else I believe we can sit around and complain about it or do something about it. So I decided to come up with my own lists. With all the sistahs who have done their thing on the small screen, there is no way to give them all love on this list. Without further ado, I present, in no particular order my 10 Sexy Sistahs of Sitcoms list. Let me know what you think. Tell me who I missed and should be on this list!

1. Pam Grier (Assistant US Attorney Claudia Williams on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit)

Hey I don't even think I need to justify this one. Personally I have been in love with Pam Grier since I can remember. With her it wasn't just a black thing, all men of every nationality had a thing for or wanted to get with Foxy Brown. While her fame came from mostly film the fact she was on SVU for the 2002-2003 season is enough for her to make it to the top of my list! She wasn't hilarious in this role, but has proved she can be when she wants to, but there is no denying she fits the mostly hot criteria.

2. Stacy Dash (Dionne "Dee" Davenport on Clueless)

I like her work on the big screen better and in her roles in flicks like Mo Money is where I became a fan. But I can't front like I thought Clueless the movie or the show was that great but did tune in every week to see Stacy Dash like many others. Her role fits the Maxim criteria, "...the perfect combination of hot and hilarious. But mostly hot."

3. Jill Marie Jones (Toni Childs on Girlfriends)

An argument can be made that Tracee Ellis Ross, golden Brooks and Persia White can all be on this list and I don't disagree but Jill was my favorite. Ms Jones also she fits the criteria maxim as well "...the perfect combination of hot and hilarious. But mostly hot."

4. Essence Atkins ( Dee Dee Thorneon Half & Half)

Not that my list needs to or will in its entirety, I have to say she definitely fits the Maxim criteria as well

5. Lisa Bonet (Denise Huxtable on The Cosby Show & A Different World)

Everyone I knew had a crush on Lisa Bonet in the 80's, I wasn't only a member of her fan club I was the president!

6. Meagan Good (Raising Dad & Just One Of The Girls)

Now I know we know her more for her movie roles but since she had starring or co-starring roles on the short lived sitcom, this sistah of African American, French, Indian and Puerto Rican decent makes my list!

7. Terri J. Vaughn (Lovita Alizay Jenkins Robinson on The Steve Harvey Show)

Not that it needs justification but if Maxim can put Christina Applegate (Kelly on "Married With Children") on their list you can't deny me Lovita who epitomized their catch phrase, "...the perfect combination of hot and hilarious. But mostly hot."

8. Jasmine Guy (Whitley Gilbert on A Different World)

After Lisa Bonet's public off screen fued with Cosby and her departure, the series which originally her spin-off show becan to focused on other characters, including this Southern belle. Once again I state she was "...the perfect combination of hot and hilarious. But mostly hot."

9. Vivica A. Fox (medical director Dr. Lillian Price on City Of Angels)

Another actress known best for her work on the big screen but the bright-eyed and beautiful young sistah makes my list for bringing her sassy but sexy style to the small screen for this role.

10. Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Samantha Bloom on Undercovers)

And for all of you who thought I was taking it too far back, last but certainly not least, this British Beauty rounds off my sexiest sistahs of sitcom list. Although she is relatively a new comer, she making quite a name for herself as she manages to convey cool and complex emotions, while kicking some serious butt like another JJ Abrams' leading lady, Jennifer Gardner in Alias (another one of my favorite shows). Expect to see her name on many more list in the near future.
