Leading a healthy lifestyle is actually very easy. It simply requires balancing the physical, intellectual and spiritual aspects of your life, doing everything in moderation and following some simple guidelines.

Make The Most of Each Day

Wake up early and give thanks for a new day and all the opportunites it brings. Take a few minutes to stretch and get ready for the day ahead.

Eat A Nutritious Power Breakfast

Breakfast is the most important meal. Allow time each morning to eat a nutritious and balanced breakfast including fresh fruit and juices, whole wheat/whole grain cereals and toast, herbal or regular tea and coffee. Avoid fast food "breakfasts" and grabbing coffee and pasteries "on the run"

Eat Satisfying Lunch and Dinner

Salads, soups and sandwiches with vegetables, fish and lean poulty or meat make ideal lunches. Dinners with fish, poultry and lean meats combined with 2 vegetables make an ideal dinner. The secret is to avoid fast food and processed food at all costs.

Exercise Your Body

Walking is perhaps the easiest and best exercise for people of any age. It's good for the body, the mind and the spirit. Try to walk for 30 - 60 minutes every evening after dinner, even if you regularly work out at a gym, jog or play tennis periodically.

Expand Your Mind

Whether you're an executive, a manual laborer or a retiree, set aside some time each day to excerside your mind. Read a book or magaine for your personal enjoyment, play a game of chess, or simply do a crossword puzzle. It's a great tension reliever too.

Elevate Your Spirit

Living a healthy lifestyle also includes setting aside a some time each day to lift your spirit through prayer, meditation, spiritual reading or self reflection. Even taking a walk along the beach or strolling through the park can work wonders in lifting your spirit.

Get Ample Sleep

Be sure to get 6 - 8 hours of sleep every night. Unless you're well-rested and refreshed, you;ll never fully experience the joy of living a healthy lifestyle.
