10 Simple Ways to Reuse Old Mousepads

If you are anything like me you have collected various mouse pads over the years. A variation of free promotional mouse pads and old personally purchased, now old and worn, mouse pads. Whichever type of mouse pad you have the trash is not a good place for them and finding a place to recycle the material is not easy. Though, with very little effort you can repurpose your old mouse pads and give them a new life.

Trivet - Protect your kitchen counter from hot pans and dishes, by using an old mouse pad as a trivet. Use only the foam type pads with the cloth type cover, to prevent possible melting of a plastic covered one.

Furniture protector - Cut up a mouse pad in small pieces and place each piece under chair legs and other furniture to prevent scraping up floors.

Coaster - Cut up into round, square or fun shapes to make coasters to use under your glasses.

Cabinet doors - For thinner mouse pads, cut them up into small round or square pieces, glue them to the corners of the cabinet doors and to use as cabinet door stoppers to protect and cushion the noise when shutting cabinet doors.

Wrist rest - Cut a pad into a long thick strip and place it in front of your keyboard to protect and cushion your wrists as you type when using your computer.

Planters pad - Protect your floors buy placing a mouse pad under a plant pot. Cut it to shape or place it underneath as is.

Garden knee pads - Place them on the ground and use them to protect your knees when you are working in the garden or if you have an old pair of pants you can glue or sew them directly to the knees of your pants and use then as your exclusive garden pants. Make sure you put them on before you attach the pads, to be sure where your knees fall on the pants.

Painting - Cut a mouse pad into shapes. Draw a shape using a stencil, cookie cutter or your own artistic ability. Cut the shapes out and use them as paint stamps. For a handle use an excess cut piece and glue it to the middle top of the shape.

Slipping cushion - Place a mouse pad or strips of one under a chair cushions to prevent the cushion from slipping and moving around.

Non-slip dashboard - Using Velcro, Velcro a mouse pad, upside down, to the dashboard of your car. The rubbery feeling bottom of the mouse pad will keep your cell phone or mp3 player from slipping off your dashboard.
