Being a teen can be tough but these simple tips can leave you with one less thing to worry about, your skin. Hormones, dirt, makeup, and everyday pollution, can reek havoc on your skin. Keep your skin looking fresh, soft, and young, and keep your makeup looking great with these expert tips for teens and tweens.
Don't over do it. Not only, is it bad for your skin but it is not flattering to a young face. Apply your makeup with the idea that less is more. Wearing too much makeup on a young face can look like an amateur application.
Accentuate your most beautiful feature, not your whole face. So if your eyes are you best feature, make them up but leave your lips more subtle with a gloss. If its your lips, than leave your eyes more natural. Wearing lots of makeup on your entire face, can actually hide your best features.
Wash your makeup off every night before you go to bed. This is very important to keep away the blemishes and eye infections. Throughout the day, you collect bacteria, oils, and impurities in your pores, that mixed with makeup and sweat, can be a breeding ground for blemishes. You should also wash your face in the mornings before applying makeup.
Never, Ever, share your makeup with your friends. You can easily pass pink eye (conjunctivitis), eye infections, and even herpes virus.
Always use a moisturizer with an SPF of at least 15 on your face. Higher if you are going to be out in the sun for extended periods of time. You don't want to a sunburn, wrinkles, or ever worse.... Skin cancer.
Try a tinted moisturizer instead of a heavy foundation. Not only will it look more natural, it wont get cakey, and clog pores.
Don't put eyeliner on the inside of your eyes. This can clog or block, your tear ducts causing painful, watery eyes. Sometimes this condition requires medical treatment. It can also lead to eye infections.
Keep your make up appropriate for your setting. Meaning, if you are going to church or to a wedding, you should probably apply a little less than normal and make it tasteful. If you are going to the mall or our with friends, you can probably get away with a bit more.
Choose face make up that is non-allergenic and non-comedogenic. Non-allergenic means is less likely that you will have an allergy to the makeup and non-comedogenic means it will not cause acne or clog pores.
Use a colored lip gloss instead of lipstick. A shiny gloss with a hint of color looks much better on young lips, than a thick, dark, lipstick. Lipstick can make lips look old.
Stick to these fantastic tips and keep your makeup looking great and your skin, picture-perfect!
