10 Things to do to Help Control or Suppress Your Appetite

Here are the top 10 things you can do to control your hunger:

Brush your teeth, floss and use mouthwash.

Doing these 3 things are great ways to prevent yourself from eating and it's also healthy for your teeth and gums! When you get hungry brush your teeth to get that cold mint fresh flavor in your mouth. That mint flavor makes food taste bad, so it prevents you from eating anything soon after. To keep your mind off the food try to remind yourself each time you do eat something you'll have to brush, floss, and use mouthwash all over again.

2. Water

So you're over brushing your teeth and you need a new cure to stop you from eating that tasty snack in the kitchen. Water is the solution for you! It's recommended that humans drink 8 glasses of water a day. Water carries out toxins in your body, streams nutrients around your body, and cleanses it too. Sometimes when we think that we're hungry our body just really wants some good old H2O. Water will give your tummy that full feeling like you just ate a big meal.

3. Exercise

You're tired of drinking water and need any remedy to make that hunger pang go away! Well now sweat away all that water you just drank. Exercising reduces stress, uplifts your spirits, and is great for toning your body among many other things. Exercising is not only a good way to control your appetite but a great way to keep your body in shape.

4. Take a Bath

Now that you are dead tired from exercising, take a bath. Get rid of the stinky clothes, go ahead and relax those muscles from your hard workout. You deserve to treat your body to something soothing and peaceful. Just sit down, free your mind, and think about all the good things in life.

5. Watch a Movie

As you look at your hands you notice that you resemble a prune because you spent so much time enjoying your bath. So now that you have taken care of your body, entertain your mind for a little while. Hop online to rent a movie, visit your nearest movie rental source, or search pay per view to see what's currently showing. To keep those little voices out that are telling you to eat something, remind yourself that it's hard to listen what's being said in a movie when you're chewing on food. To prevent snacking, remind yourself that you'll have to stop that movie go brush, floss, and use mouthwash all over again.

6. Call a friend

The movie is done and you loved it, or maybe even hated it! Call a friend up and discuss that movie you just saw. Haha, you can't talk on the phone while eating because it's too hard to chew and talk at the same time. Think twice before you eat and chat, it's rude to do that on the phone; no one likes to hear someone chomping on their food while trying to have a conversation. Save yourself the struggle of eating and talking and just get caught up in the moment of chatting up a storm with your pal. This should keep you busy for hours.

7. Computer

But you say, "I'm really not a phone person". Well then how about computers, almost everyone can find something that interests them on the internet. Go chat online with your buddies or visit all your online networking sites like Myspace or Facebook. Look up celebrity gossip sites, read the current news, search anything on Wikipedia, or play that addictive World of Warcraft game everyone is obsessed with. There are so many things you can do online and on your computer, your mind is your only limit. Just keep in mind it's hard to type using one hand when you're using the other hand to eat. What? You said, "I can type with one hand perfectly." Well before you head to the kitchen to satisfy your munchies, think about your mouse getting all greasy from snacking, the keyboard full of crumbs stuck between the keys, having to brush your teeth, floss, and use mouthwash. Also did you remember that 8 glasses of water a day? How many cups have you consumed currently?

8. Video games

The unthinkable has happened; you're finally tired of being on the computer. Well then tell your friends on Myspace or on AIM that you guys should hit up the multiplayer scene on the Xbox 360 or Nintendo Wii. Even if you aren't into games you'll be surprised how much fun playing video games with a group of friends can be, especially when your controller needs both hands at all times and you need your mouth free of any food so you can chat with them on your microphone. You'll get so caught up in the game you'll forget that you were even hungry before.

9. Read a book

Video games are good up to a certain point for some people, and if you're one of those people that think this then you must be one of those people who like to read books. Go to a nice quiet place grab any type of book, one that you hate or even one that you love and read it. Now if you enjoy books, just get caught up into the story and forget about the things going on in your world. Now if you don't like books this should help you get ready for the last tip on preventing you from eating that fatty double cheese burger.

10. Sleep

I do enjoy reading a good book once in a while, a long, long, long while...but I mostly read books to fall asleep and it works all the time! After compacting your day with so many activities give your mind, body, and spirit a little treat and take a nice long nap. Catch some Zs and as soon as you awake again follow tips 1-10, rinse, and repeat. Also a little reminder, you should have drunk at least 8 glasses of water by now.

Bonus Tip1: If you think you just can't stop yourself from eating during any of these activities, start to think of the nastiest food combinations to make your hunger go away. Here are a 3 examples:

1. Orange juice mixed with chocolate and bell peppers.

2. Watermelon swimming in a ton of ketchup.

3. Jellybeans soaked in vinegar.

Bonus Tip 2: Vanity should not overrule your appetite. The key to getting your weight under control is to consume less food and become more active.
