10 Things I'd Tell the 15 Year Old Summer Banks

Summer Banks
You only get to live life one time so live it to the fullest. While most of us would never turn back the hands of time for fear of losing the beauty we have today, there are a few things I would love to tell the 15 year old Summer Banks if I knew I would still have my husband, children and family. The 15 year old Summer Banks was smart, so maybe she would have taken heed and changed the world.

1. Size Does Matter - Eat great food, but remember portion control. Metabolism does not stay in the blazing range for your entire life.

2. Money is Everything - Save more and spend less. Money you place in the bank today will grow and grow.

3. Education is More Important than Sleep - You are young, put off sleep until later in life. Go to class, get that education and study harder - you could be Valedictorian if you just studied a bit.

4. I Love to Write - Medicine, Shot Put and Discus are not the only passions you have in life - you love to write.

5. An LPN is a Great Start to an RN - You have attention deficit disorder, start small and work up from there. Getting an LPN is the perfect choice for your future goals.

6. Parents are Not Around Forever - Take time to love your parents more, call them often and plan plenty of time together. Sometimes they disappear without a moment's notice.

7. Remember "A-S-S-O-C-I-A-T-E-D-C-O-N-T-E-N-T-.-C-O-M" - It is a website you will want to join early and write for often. The year to remember is 2005.

8. Work Hard and Invest in Google - There will be a major player in search engines popping up on the stock market. Invest in the company while the stock is selling low. Beg, borrow and steal if you have to - just buy thousands of shares.

9. Buy Every .com You Can Think of - The Internet may be a far-fetched idea, but watch it closely. As soon as .com domains become available, buy as many as you can and hold on to them for the next 10 years.

10. Buy the House at $130,000 - The $130,000 price is good and you will be able to raise your family there forever.

There are probably 100 more things I could tell the 15 year old Summer Banks, but these will have to do. Sitting back and talking about this assignment with my husband, we wonder how life would be if the 15 year old Summer Banks has listened.

It would be great it we could somehow tell our young selves things to do to make our future better. On the other hand, our "elders" probably told us things that would make our future better, but at that age we new everything and older people just wasn't "with it."
