10 Things to Do on a Rainy Day

Juliegirl
When we have things planned for a nice sunny day sometimes it rains. So, in that case, we have to bring the fun indoors. This article will go over ten fun things you can do on a rainy day.

What about playing with the kids. The things they enjoy doing that perhaps you not so much. Build a fort in the living room with the boys. Hunker down and tell stories and eat popcorn. If you have little girls what about playing dress up or having a tea party? Doing things with your kids that they love to do will be cherished memories for them.

Maybe you had a day at the park planned but the rain changed your plans. How about going to a museum instead? Some museums are free or very affordable. You could also go to a science center. The rain doesn't always have to mean you have to stay at home.

How about catching up on some hobbies you have been putting off? If you scrapbook and have several projects going but never have the time then a rainy day could be the perfect time! Have you been wanting to clean out the cabinets or closet? Then take advantage of the opportunity. I know it may not be much fun, but if it is something that needs done and you can't do anything else then why not?

If going to a park and having a family picnic is out of the question then have an indoors picnic. Spread a nice blanket or quilt on the living room floor. Pack a picnic and enjoy!

Another fun idea is to make "movie night" a "movie day". Just relax and watch all of your favorite movies. Pop some popcorn and grab a drink and have fun.

Baking is always fun for the whole family. Kids usually enjoy helping Mom in the kitchen. Bake cookies or have everyone pitch in and cook dinner. You could make it a theme night. Set the table real nice and bring out some decorations. You could have an Hawaiian theme dinner night, Italian dinner night or even a Mexican theme. For more ideas for different themes click on the highlighted theme. Italian. Mexican. Hawaiian.

Try catching up with friends. Make some phone calls or even sit down and writeur some actual hand written letters to people. The personal touch of mailing a handwritten letter will never go out of style.

Get out a 1000 piece puzzle and involve the whole family in putting it together. Maybe set up on a card table that way if you don't finish it you can all work on it later.

Play some games. You can play board games, video games, cards, dominoes or whatever your family enjoys. How about charades? Take turns playing games your family enjoys.

Now here is something different. Make it a "no technology day". No phones, no texting, no computers and emails, and no tv's. Think your family can handle it?

Don't let a rainy day get you down. The sun will come out tomorrow!
