10 Tips on Cleaning Plastic Outdoor Furniture

If you own a home, you have to have a place to sit in your back yard. I just moved to Copperas Cove, Texas, from Cedar Park, Texas, and we had back yards in both places. My husband loves to grill, and we have parties outside. Because of this, we had to purchase outdoor patio furniture. We wanted to get something that was inexpensive but would last for a long time at a reasonable price. My husband and I decided to settle on plastic outdoor furniture for our family and guests. All we did is buy a set of chairs and a table at the local Walmart. Plastic furniture is economical and there are various ways to take care of your plastic outdoor furniture. Here, I'm going to give you tips on cleaning your plastic outdoor furniture so that you can enjoy many uses out of them.

1. The easiest way to clean your outdoor plastic furniture is to shake them off. This is my husband's favorite way of cleaning our outdoor plastic furniture, because he is always in such a hurry. This usually takes care of all the dirt, leaves, and dust that accumulated in the seat of the plastic chairs and on top of the plastic table. A good shaking will have your plastic outdoor furniture ready for use in no time.

2. Go get dry paper towels and wipe out whatever debris has accumulated on your plastic chairs and on top of your table. This is another easy way of cleaning your outdoor plastic furniture in hurry and with minimal effort. A quick wiping with dry paper towels using takes care of all the dirt leaves and dust and makes your outdoor plastic furniture ready for your enjoyment.

3. Use a leaf blower to clean your outdoor plastic furniture. I have a lot of trees in my yard and leaves are everywhere. I use our leaf blower to blow out the leaves and dirt that settle in our plastic chairs and then use it to blow off the outdoor droppings that accumulate on top of the table.

4. You can also use a shop vacuum to clean your outdoor plastic furniture. Shop vacuums are very easy to use to do this job. Believe me, all of the dirt, grime, and outdoor droppings will come right off. After I'm done spraying the plastic chairs and table, I wipe them off with paper towels to get the water off.

6. Grab a wet washcloth and plain warm water to wipe down your Outdoor Plastic furniture with it. Start with the chairs and end with the table. Allow to air dry or dry with paper towels once you are finished wiping the plastic furniture down.

7. Scrub your Plastic outdoor furniture with a brillo pad and warm soapy water. Dip the brillo pad into the warm soapy water and clean each piece of your outdoor plastic furniture. Make sure you spray the plastic furniture off with the water hose when you are done and then use paper towels or allow to air dry.

8. Get a wet sponge and bucket of warm soapy water. Start with your plastic chairs and use the sponge to wipe down each plastic chair with the soapy water. After you are done with the chairs, then use the sponge and soapy water to wipe down the plastic table. Once you are done wiping down the plastic chairs and table, spray off the soap with the water hose. After you are done spraying off the chairs with the water hose, then use paper towels to dry the chairs off or allow to air dry.

9. Use Lysol Spray and paper towels to thoroughly clean and disinfect your outdoor plastic furniture. Spray the plastic chairs and table with the Lysol Cleaning Spray and then wipe each item clean with the paper towels. Allow the plastic furniture to air dry.

10. For easier disinfecting and cleaning, use the Lysol disinfecting cloths that come in a plastic canister. Use each cloth to wipe down each piece of outdoor plastic furniture that you have. All you will need to do is let the plastic furniture air dry once you are finished wiping the plastic furniture down. Your plastic furniture smells clean and the wipes kills the germs from on your plastic furniture.

As you can see, there are many different ways that you can quickly clean your outdoor plastic furniture and have it ready for your family and friends. Some ways of cleaning are easier than others.
