10 Tips for Coping with Breast Cancer Diagnosis

There is support for you in this diagnosis, do not despair. The following ten tips are meant as a help for you if you have received a breast cancer diagnosis. Dealing with breast cancer diagnosis is not the end of the world if you have a way to fight.

Give some stress away each day

Once a day scream out loud, Who Cares! This is a way to release yourself from old lifestyles that may not be conducive to healing. Who cares if dishes pile up in the sink and the hardwood floors look like they have shag carpeting for all the dust. Try to reduce your stress levels by eliminating what does not matter.

Open the floodgates

Immediately after finding out about the breast cancer diagnosis, you should find someone you trust implicitly with your heart and soul and let your emotions, anger, fears, and feelings out.

Move deeper in faith

Find scriptures that have been full of comfort for you in the past, they will still give the same for the breast cancer diagnosis. It's the quite still moments where our faith is renewed. Faith will help in dealing with breast cancer diagnosis.

Normality will return

Right now it seems like every 60 seconds you are thinking about how to deal with breast cancer diagnosis, to the point you may feel like you're being smothered. Realize as time goes on that you will think on it less and less, normal life will return.

Allow your emotions to be felt

This is not the time to be pushing yourself harder; it is time to take time to love you. Doing your pre diagnosis activities may not be possible now, social and other obligations will have to be rethought and it is completely okay to say NO without feeling guilt.

There is no shame in asking for help with what to you may seem like small ordinary tasks. You will be less physically able to do what you normally did and will need time to recuperate from

Find Support

Find support groups to become involved in. You can check with your Doctor and hospital for local support groups and there are many fine groups online as well.

Rest

This is the time to make room for your recuperation. Dealing with breast cancer diagnosis is a physically, emotionally and mentally draining event and extra rest will help your recover process. When you are more rested, dealing with breast cancer diagnosis will be less frightening and you will feel more able to fight.

Pamper yourself

If you have been dealing with breast cancer diagnosis undoubtedly you have not felt much like going out or doing anything fun but this too is important to your recovery. You don't have to spend tons of money to pamper yourself, go to a park on a sunny day and have a picnic with a friend or go to the library and find some wonderful new books to read.
