Spring Break 2009 for many vacationers means tons of college students on a beach partying hard. However, there are others that enjoy taking trips to different locales during their spring break. One such group is couples on a budget. With the economy being in the shape that it is, this year's spring break should afford couples on a budget to take trips in which they never would have imagined being able to do.

Here are 10 tips that should help any spring break bound couple to come up with a memorable trip at a reasonable price.

1. If a couple is planning a spring break trip and it do not have plans to travel to a specific location, use websites such as www.air fare watchdog.com to choose from various air fares available from specific airports at more reasonable prices.

2. Vacations that may not normally be considered for spring breakers are within reach with a website like www.cheapcaribbean.com. The site provides visitors with many different options of hotels and resorts in which to spend a few days or even longer. There are lots of last-minute deals that are offered as well as great prices on trips planned in advance.

3. For a couple planning a cruise, though it it's not necessarily the most romantic of options, but add in another couple to the cabin for a quad rate discount. The standard cabin is quite tiny when looking at for people in room. However, the price that you pay for the room will be so much cheaper using this as an option. Plus, most cruisers spend very little time in the cabin anyway.

4. Why not spend spring break close to home? If you're a part of a couple that is living in a state with fairly warm temperatures, a great idea on cutting cost is to travel to a destination that is a few hours' drive away. This allows the spring break couple to reduce or even eliminate airfare costs and stand those funds on other things such as entertainment, hotel, or meals.

5. Couple with other couples. For costs and travelers it is a well-known fact that the more individuals that are included in a trip to lower the cost is for all persons involved. The same holds true for spring break couples. However, to make the trip more couple friendly and rather than choosing individuals, couples can join with other couples. This keeps the couple's trip intact, and eliminates the feeling that individuals or extra wheels.

6. With it being a well-known fact that many people are not traveling due to the economic status of the country, it's much more reasonable to obtain a package to European locations such as London and Paris. Websites such as Expedia.com are offering packages for three nights including airfare and hotel at a moderate establishment for a little more than $500.

7. If you're not bound by the dates and which colleges normally have spring break, couples are able to capitalize on flexibility. A couple that can depart on the Saturday prior to the actual week of spring break will usually obtain much lower prices. The same goes for those willing to travel during nonpeak times, such as early-morning flights departing as early as 5 a.m. or red eye flight that the part usually after midnight when traveling from the west to the east.

8. If flying, make those reservations but hold off until closer to the departure time in order to obtain a better discount on hotel rooms and resorts. During spring break, many travelers are required to place deposits in order to make room reservations. Those reservations normally must be cancelled within seven to 14 days of the arrival date, or the traveler loses the deposit. Call your chosen hotel and determine what their refund policy is on deposits. Whatever the deadline is for cancellations, called him at that point to determine if they have a room available. You may find that the price is better than if he booked in advance.

9. Choose to do something atypical of the spring break time of year. If you've been dying to go skiing, choose to go to their vacation that is in the higher elevations and is still getting snow during spring break.

10. Rather than go to the beach, rent a lake house and enjoy the fresh water as the close to the salt water. You still have the opportunity to lounge by the water, while being able to enjoy time not being spent with tens of thousands of other spring breakers.
