10 TV and Movie Sets in New York City You'd Love to Live On

New York City is a captivating place, many TV shows and movies has been set here. Many of them, with sets so beautiful one would want to just pack a bag and move onto one of them. I know I would love to live on some of the sets.

Here's the list of ten TV and Movie sets in NYC, I would like to live on.

I have to open the list with the Empire penthouse from the set of Gossip Girl. It's a home to Chuck Bass and the interior design is so great it made it onto another list you'd probably be interested in. It's easy to say exactly why that New York apartment made the list here. The luxurious penthouse has it all: numerous rooms, poll table, spacious kitchen and a living room. And let's not forget the room service that takes care of all the tedious chores one would have to endure while living some place else: cleaning, grocery shopping, it's all done for you.

Another Gossip Girl set I would want to move into is The Humphreys' Brooklyn loft. I'm particularly fond of the kids' room with the garage door separating Dan's room from Jenny's room. It might not be as posh at all the other apartments on the show, but it's the casual look and comfortably looking furniture that gave that set a place on this list.

I knew I had to include one of the sets from Sex and the City, as both the TV show and the movie included NYC as if it was additional character. But I think I have to settle on the beautiful new apartment Mr Big buys for Carrie in the movie. The wardrobe and the shelves and special place for Carrie's shoes won me over, just like it did with Carrie herself. I think I love everything about that place, even the color of the carpet.

This list wouldn't be complete without one classic choice, which for me is the Friends' apartment where Phoebe, Rachel and Monica lived for so long. The sheer size of it makes me want to claim it as mine. Simply imagine those three rooms, bathroom, living room and a kitchen. Apartments that size shouldn't exist in New York, and yet I was seeing that one for years on my TV screen.

Andi Sachs in Devil Wears Prada has a smaller apartment that, to be perfectly honest, feels crowded if her boyfriend is over. But the furniture and various small decorations make it look like a comfortable living space. One I would definitely want to give a try. Especially if it comes with the kind of wardrobe that Andi got from the Runway (but that would only be a bonus).

I'm not sure if I should qualify my next choice as an apartment or a house. It's a White Collar set, a house where the main character, Neil Caffrey lives. The house is technically owned by June, a woman Caffrey befriended in a very first episode. But where I would love to move in is the room upstairs, where Neil lives. It's connected to a terrace, has big windows, and even though the decor is rather minimalistic it still has this posh feel to it.

Cruel Intentions is another movie set in the New York City and Kathryn's apartment there is definitely on my list of fictional places I'd love to live on. Although, to be perfectly honest, it's more because of the furniture and general luxurious style she likes, than anything else.

I admit, this next set is on the list because of my soft spot for sci-fi. Charles Xavier's School for the Gifted from the set of the X-men franchise is a huge mansion that actually doubles for a school for mutants. It has everything a mansion should have. Numerous floors, secret passages, super computer (imagine watching 3D flicks on that screen), amazing garden and a pool. It might be my summer house.

Kathleen Clayton's house from Tarzan should probably be a bit higher on the list, especially with the very own greenhouse, and a rich old look, it captured my heart almost immediately. Judging by the exterior shots used for this set, it's also located in the same neighborhood at Neil Caffrey's place. So between the con man and a guy who doesn't believe in footwear, I'd say it's a perfect place to live.

And finally, the list closes with Holly and Gerry's apartment in P.S. I Love You. It crowded and appears to be tiny, but what it felt like to me is exactly like a lived-in apartment should look like. Lot's of small things around, furniture that almost feel too big and so many colors mismatching around, you'd thing I designed the decor myself.

So here's my list of TV and Movie sets located in New York City I would love to live on. What are your picks? Share in comments!
