10 TV Sets We'd like to Live On!

JR
Some times, a TV Show's set is so wonderful you just want to forget it isn't real and simply move in. This is a list of TV show sets I would love to live on.

First and foremost is the Gossip Girl's Empire penthouse, where their resident bad boy Chuck Bass lives (with his do-gooder best friend, Nate Archibald). Not only is has room service, which means you don't have to worry about shopping or cleaning, but the design of the place itself is spectacular. It has at least two rooms, a huge living room with a pool table, a roomy kitchen and an elevator. Not to mention a motorcycle that stands in the hall. Rest assured, the moment I get disgustingly rich, I'm buying an apartment like that. Even though, I have a strong suspicion penthouses like that are very expensive in NYC (where the show is located).

Another TV set that got my attention also is a home of two handsome guys, where one of them is a hero and the other... not so much. The Vampire Diaries' Salvatore Mansion is a beautiful old building located in the fictional town of Mystic Falls. It has two floors and an attic which has been adapted as living space (Stefan Salvatore's bedroom and study). On the first floor there is a living room that seem to take the entire floor. And you can't forget a very nice garden in the back, a garage; and a basement, perfect for storing a fridge full of stolen blood and holding not so friendly vampires prisoner.

The City of Atlantis, my next pick on the list of TV sets I would love to live on, might be the biggest set I'd like to move in. And even though, technically, it's several sets, on Stargate: Atlantis it's a beautiful City (sometimes used as an intergalactic spaceship) floating on an ocean. Not only is the city surrounded by beautiful water, the interior design is almost magical, with a mixture of warm orange glass and blue metal walls. The only minus might be the fact that to truly operate the City's systems you have to be a carrier of a very specific gene. But those are just details, right?

The list wouldn't be complete without The Friends' apartment in New York City. And by that I mean the apartment where the girls lived, and where most of the plot took place. The three room, the living room and the annex kitchen are the exact combination of space and comfort I love about my home. Additionally it seems close enough to a coffee shop (something I consider a must in any location I plan to spend the night at). And if the flat comes with a nice set of roommates? Definitely a bonus.

I also have a soft spot for Jules' house over at Cougar Town. A living room and a kitchen on the first floor, two room and a bathroom upstairs. And, it needs pointing out, it's not just any other bathroom. After the main character, Jules, renovated the place, the bathroom alone could satisfy my need for space and comfort. The only minus of this fictional home is the fact that it's located in the suburbs, which means hell of a commute.

Another TV set I would love to move in on is located 630 Revello Drive in a town of Sunnydale. A home to Buffy, the Vampire Slayer, it survived numerous Apocalypses, vampire, demons, teenage girls and spells performed inside. And it's still standing. That's definitely a strong selling point. Two floors and a basement that can be adapted as a living space (for vampires mostly, but I'm not picky). Though for me, it's the chimney that is worth more than everything else. It provides this special atmosphere, of course, when you're not busy saving the world.

It might look a bit out of place on this list, but to be honest I would love to move into Sasha Belov's trailer on the set of Make It or Break It. The trailer is located outside of the Rocky Mountain Gym and serves as the home to the Rock's head coach. And while it might not be as big at the other places on this list, it is still big enough to be comfortable, it still has a somewhat peculiar lawn furniture outside and the surrounding area (despite being close to the parking lot and the street) is quiet and nice.

Gemma Teller's house from Sons of Anarchy is yet another TV set that's worth the attention. It might not be as posh as some other picks of mine, but it's comfortable and has a casual feel to it. There's a lot of wood panels and it's all very natural. Despite the show being about the gang of outlaws, their biker club, their crimes, Gemma Teller is all about family, and her house shows it clearly. I think that quality is the main reason why the set has caught my attention.

TARDIS (which stands for Time and Relative Dimensions in Space) is a home of The Doctor from the BBC hit series Doctor Who. On the outside, it's a blue police box, but on the inside... Well, let's start with the fact that it's bigger on the inside. It's a time traveling machine, yes, but inside, it also has various guest rooms, a library with a pool, a huge wardrobe and probably much more. It's a perfect living space, especially if you get bored with the neighbors... You can simply find new ones.

And finally the last (but not least) TV set I would love to live on is the Brooklyn loft that currently houses Dan Humphrey. It seems somehow suitable to close my list with the same TV show that opened it. Gossip Girl. It spacious and comfortable, with two room, one of which is divided with garage doors, giving it a unique style. It's casual feel is a great contrast to the rest of the sets on Gossip Girl, but it doesn't look a homey look the producers were surely looking for.

So there it is. The list of 10 TV sets I want to live on, ignoring the fact that they are completely fictional. What are your picks? Is there a place you'd like to move into? Share your ideas in the comments!
