1. Breath Properly

Take a few minutes to concentrate on breathing properly, this will help to dispel some of your tension and stress. Take a deep breath from the bottom of your lungs and expel it slowly. Repeat this a few times.

2. Listen to soft music

Turn on some soft music (that you find relaxing) close your eyes for five to ten minutes use the above breathing exercise

3. Read a book

Do you find reading relaxing? For some people reading will let them escape from the real world for a short amount of time and relax and unwind. Reading a book is a great way to relax before going to sleep in the evenings.

4. Play an instrument

Playing an instrument can be incredibly relaxing and soothing. Pick up your instrument of choice and just play. Or learn to play a music instrument if you do not know how. Evan if it is just a ukulele or a recorder.

5. Go for a relaxing walk, run or swim

If there is an exercise that you find relaxing then great. There are two benefits to this activity; one you keep fit; and two you also become relaxed and destress.

6. Get together with friends for coffee

No doubt when a group of friends get together there is plenty of laughter and talking.

7. Have a massage

Oh this is a blissful indulgence and is a recommended way to spend a minimum of thirty minutes

8. Indulge in a professional facial

Similar benefits to having a massage but also you can get tailored skincare advice from a professional.

9. Go on a shopping spree

Warning ONLY go shopping if you have the money to do so, otherwise it will be counterproductive and you will feel worse in the long run.

10. Get a manicure or a pedicure

Not only is this relaxing but also it makes your hands or feet look good.

Everyone is different, therefore what relaxes one person will not necessarily relax someone else. Take a note of the things that relax you, so that the next time you need to relax it will be easier to do so.
