1. Water: Your body is going to work hard to keep you cool during this heat wave. Usually people tend to drink water the moment they feel hot or dehydrated, by then its too late. hydrate the day before. So every night make sure you drink a lot of water. Yes you may make a couple midnight runs to the bathroom, but your body will have the water to stay hydrated through out the day, and continue to drink water through out the day as well.

2. Hair: Guys shave your head...i know i know, the hair is your personality. Well if you want to stay cool, you will shave your head. also shave body hair, facial hair. this will remove some of the heat as well. after all. hair is designed to keep you warm. ladies tie up your hair, ad if you are willing, go with the short hair. Its fashionable and keeps you cool. Also if you don't already, remove all body and facial hair as well.

3. Fan: Some of us do not like to see our electric bill after the summer is over. So instead of wasting money on the air condition, turn on a fan and lay close to the ground. heat rises so it makes sense to get low low low.

4. Blinds: Close the blinds but keep the window open. The light will generate a lot of heat, so if you block the sun and allow air to come in, it will be much cooler. Open them back up around 7 or 8 and enjoy the breeze of the summer nights.

5. Swimming: An obvious choice, but it really is the best way to stay cool and get a good exercise without worrying about being sweaty. Swimming is one of the best ways to stay or get fit, and just so happens to be water! So jump in and stay cool the rest of the day.

5 things to avoid:

1. Lights on: Turn all lights off. Besides the electricity issues, lights will make your house an oven. So turn them off as much as you can.

2. Office: If you have an office in your house or even a computer. Be careful because they can get pretty hot and as soon as your body starts to feel hot, it will go into cool down mode and you will begin to sweat. So stay clear of putting the laptop on your lap or keeping those desktops on for too long.

3. Staying in one spot: If you are in one place for too long, your body heat will build up, weather its on a couch, or floor. Try moving around every once in a while from spot to spot. You will notice it will cool down and will be more enjoyable to sit or lay back down again.

4. Staying inside: Try to go out every once in a while and find trees to sit under. Trees will produce a breeze, so if it is just too hot in the house then go out and find some trees to sit under. It will be worth it.

5. Exercising during the day: I know we have to look good, but try not to work out during the day. It is really hot and to exert your body to the limit when its already working to keep you cool, could be dangerous. Instead enjoy your day and work it out hard later when it cools down.
