10 Worst Saturday Morning Cartoons of All Time

Every once in a while I'll dig up a Saturday Morning Cartoon that I really enjoyed as a child and watch it. They don't seem nearly as good as they used to be but they are cheesy fun and there is a definite nostalgic feeling. Even the Saturday Morning Cartoons that we loved as a child are admittedly bad so what does that say for the cartoons that weren't even good as a child? There have been some pretty awful Saturday Morning cartoons over the years and these are the worst of them all.

The Rosey and Buddy Show
Sometimes a live action television show is adapted into a cartoon and it's possible to justify as a good idea. Children liked the Punky Brewster live action show so why not make a cartoon? Why anybody would think a cartoon based on the television RoseAnne would be a good idea I don't know.

Rubik the Amazing Cube
There have rumors that board games like Monopoly and Battleship will be adapted into movies soon and movie fans are taken aback that Hollywood would have such bad ideas. You do realize that there was once a cartoon based on the Rubik's Cube right? It was a Rubik's Cube with legs and an alien face. Clearly Hollywood will make adaptations of anything.

Laverne and Shirley Join the Army
Who and who join the what? Laverne and Shirley is another television show that I question being adapted into a cartoon but why the army? Why not just regular zany adventures from Laverne and Shirley? An equivalent adaptation today would be Snooki and the Situation join the Army. Raise your hand if you want to see that. (If you are raising your hand, put it down)

Street Sharks
There have been very few animated series that made more cash than the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. After the Turtles took off everyone was making rip offs of anamorphic, crime-fighting animals. The worst example is Street Sharks. Giving sharks arms and legs and make them walk around like humans was just weird.

Beverly Hill Teens
Adapting a television show and changing the ages of all of the characters is a common practice that never works. It didn't work when the Beverly Hillbillies decreased in age and turned into teens just like it didn't work when Pebbles and Bam Bam increased in age to teenagers.

Yo Yogi
Yo Yogi is another cartoon that tries to change the age of the main character. Besides the fact that Yogi Bear is an iconic cartoon character that should never be changed, this cartoon was even more offensive because it attempted to be cool and we know what happens when adults try to be cool teenagers. They do stupid things like thinking the word "Yo" in the title will be cool.

The Gary Coleman Show
Gary Coleman had his own animated television series. At first I racked my brain trying to figure out why Gary Coleman was even deserving of an animated series. That thought quickly left my brain when I first watched the show and it was replaced by the thought, "what the heck is going on?" First of all the show was not even about Gary Coleman, the main character was just voiced by him. But why did they name the show after the voice actor when the character has a different name? Second, Coleman's character was a guy who was sent down from heaven to earn his wings by helping people. What the heck does this have to do with Gary Coleman?

The Partridge Family 2200 A. D.
There were two glaring problems about the Partridge Family 2200 A.D. animated series. 1) It was set in the year 2200 A.D. 2) It was about the Partridge Family. If you remove those two things then it's not bad!

The Fonz and the Happy Days Gang
Another sure fire way to make a horrible Saturday Morning Cartoon is to take a television show that does not take place in space and then place it in space. The Partridge Family 2200 A. D., Josie and the Pussycats in Space, The Fonz and the Happy Days Gang. It just doesn't work. Also, how dare they call it the "Happy Days Gang" without Potsy. To make things even worse, when The Fonz and the Happy Days Gang finally ended Fonz and his dog, Mr. Cool, joined the cast of Laverne and Shirley Join the Army instead. The army was not in space.

Hammer Man
There was a period of time when several musical acts were getting their own cartoon. I remember my sister being excited about the New Kids on the Block show but I was more of a Hammer fan. I was a total MC Hammer mark and defended him long after he was still cool. This animated series is when I stopped defending him.
