10 New Year's Eve Party Songs that Should Be on Your Playlist

Perfect for Any New Year's Eve Party

Ana Blanco
It's New Year's Eve and time to select which songs you and your guests will be dancing and bringing in the New Year with. It's hard to pick just 10, but here are the ones that I think should be on your playlist. No matter what your musical taste, these are perfect to get down to.

Get the Party Started, Pink - This song can be found on Pink's 2001 album, Missundaztood. Great song to get your party started. "I'm comin' up so you better get this party started".

Let's Get it Started, Black Eyed Peas - Another great song to start any party. This song was released in 2005 on their Monkey Business album.

I Gotta Feeling, Black Eyed Peas - "Tonight's gonna be a good night." This 2009 song from their E.N.D. album, is also a perfect way to start your party. It's a simple song with a fun message and beat.

1999, Prince - Doesn't matter that it's not 1999, this is a must for every New Year's Eve party. The title track from Prince's 1999 album released in 1982 is a classic and most likely his most well known song.

New Years Day, U2 - This is a beautiful song from U2's 1983 War album written about the Polish Solidarity movement. It's one of Rolling Stone's "500 Greatest Songs of All Time" and definitely should be on everyone's playlist.

Celebration, Kool & the Gang - This is a fun party song from Kool & the Gang's 1980 album Celebrate!. This song should get all your guests moving.

Just Dance, Lady Gaga - Lady Gaga's song from her 2008 album, The Fame, has practically become a dance floor anthem, and therefore a necessity on any dance party playlist.

(You Gotta)Fight for your Right (to Party!), Beastie Boys - This song is a great party anthem. It's the first single from the Beastie Boys' 1986 breakthrough album, Licensed to Ill.

I Wanna Be Sedated, Ramones - This is a classic punk rock song from the Ramones' 1978 album, Road to Ruin. It's most likely their best known song and a perfect party song. This is another song that made "500 Greatest Songs of All Time" list.

Auld Lang Syne - This song is a must for any New Year's Eve celebration and finishes my list. It's a Scottish poem written by Robert Burns in 1788 and is sung at the stroke of midnight.

Happy New Year!
