There's nothing really fancy about my 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee. It's a basic grey color. It even has a few minor "dings" in it from the hailstorms it's been through and the sometimes too close calls in various parking lots, but I must say it's the best darn vehicle I've ever owned, and I don't intend on getting rid of it anytime soon.
My husband and I purchased this 2001Jeep Grand Cherokee almost 10 years ago. It was a demo vehicle, so although not new, it had very low mileage on it. Of course that's not the story today. The mileage on it now is close to 200,000.
We've had to put a few dollars into my Jeep Grand Cherokee over the years to keep it going, but nothing real major. It needed a minor engine tuneup a couple years back and my husband was seriously thinking of getting rid of it then, but I insisted we give it another chance, and I'm glad we did. It's had a few sets of new tires, as well as some other minor adjustments over the years, but with almost 200,000 miles on it, that's something to be expected.
I still drive my Jeep Grand Cherokee back and forth to work, about 25 miles each way, the couple of days a week I work now. It had traveled that same road about 5 days a week until a couple of years ago.
I've used my Jeep Grand Cherokee over the years for everything from transporting grandchildren around to transporting clients at work around and I must say, it has never given me a problem while I was doing either of those things.
I like the way I'm able to handle my Jeep on the road. It's not too high up for me, or too low down either for me to deal with oncoming traffic. It's pretty good for driving even in a Minnesota snowstorm, although today I avoid doing that as much as possible. The gas mileage I get, between 20 and 25 miles per gallon isn't too bad either for my 10 year old Jeep.
I try to take good care of my 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee with regular maintenance and I feel that's one of the reasons why it's still as dependable as it is.
My husband has his Escalade, which we usually use when we travel together, and I must say I really do enjoy the comfort of riding in it, but when I'm the driver, more then likely you'll see me cruising around in my 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee, the best darn vehicle I ever owned.
Someday I know I'll have to say goodbye to my little old Jeep Grand Cherokee. Like everything else in this world, it won't last forever, but until that day comes I'll continue to drive this vehicle that's been the best I've owned. It's taken me pretty much wherever I've wanted to go over the past 10 years with very few complaints from me.
