10 New Year's Resolution Suggestions for J.K. Rowling

Amy Brantley
I think every Harry Potter fan could come up with several New Year's resolutions for J.K. Rowling. We all want her to do certain things in her last Harry Potter novel and we all have things we don't want her to do in her last novel. Regardless, this is my list of the New Year's resolutions that I think J.K. Rowling should make.

New Year's Resolution #1: Give Us a Title

All the Harry Potter fans are anxiously waiting for the title of J.K. Rowling last Harry Potter installment. Please just tell us the title.

New Year's Resolution #2: Finish Book 7

Harry Potter fans can wait no longer. J.K. Rowling really must finish up book 7 in 2007. We have been told it should be finished and hopefully released.

New Year's Resolution #3: Release Book 7

J.K. Rowling should release book 7 in 2007. Harry Potter fans have patiently waited and cannot keep it up. We must get out hands on book 7, hopefully in July. If J.K. Rowling doesn't release book 7 next year, Harry Potter fans will go insane.

New Year's Resolution #4: Promise Fans to Play a Character in the Harry Potter Movies

Harry Potter fans would love to see J.K. Rowling in the Harry Potter movies. There have been so many wonderful British actors and actresses and J.K. Rowling would make a wonderful addition to these amazing movies.

New Year's Resolution #5: Write a Prequel to Harry Potter

J.K. Rowling's fans would love to read a prequel to her Harry Potter novels. They would love to read about James and Lily Potter and how they met and if Snape and Lily had a relationship going on. We want more than just book 7.

New Year's Resolution #6: Go to the Order of the Phoenix Premiere

J.K. Rowling must attend the Order of the Phoenix premiere to see if it lives up her wonderful book. Also the more times J.K. Rowling attends public events, the more chances people have to find out more about book 7.

New Year's Resolution #7: Sign More Books for Charity

Harry Potter fans love having something signed by their favorite author and are willing to spend several thousand dollars for signed books. J.K. Rowling should sign more books to be auctioned off for various charities.

New Year's Resolution #8: Give Harry Potter Fans All the Answers

Harry Potter fans have patiently waiting for J.K. Rowling to tell us all she knows about her characters. We want to know why Snape hates Harry so much. We want to know if Snape is really good. We want to know why Dumbledore had to die. J.K. Rowling must give her fans all the answers.

New Year's Resolution #9: Do Not Kill Snape

Alan Rickman fans will be really upset if J.K. Rowling kills off their favorite Harry Potter character. We all know that Snape really is on the good side. J.K. Rowling has told us he was good for so long. She simply cannot kill him off.

New Year's Resolution #10: Do Not Kill Harry Potter

Fans have said they will throw book 7 down in disgust if J.K. Rowling kills off Harry Potter. I know J.K. Rowling doesn't want someone else to write about her character, but if she kills him off we will wonder if she truly cared about her fans or if it's all about her, her character, and the money.

Oh I know! I have had long conversations with people I've never met before because they overheard me talking about Harry Potter :) I hate that it has to end. It will not quickly be forgotten though. I think HP will go down with other great books like The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

It will be the end of an era when the last book is written. It's such a cultural phenomenon that has tied so many people together from all different backgrounds and walks of life. I remember when book 5 came out...I was living on an island in the Pacific NW and had to take a ferry to get to and from. The week it came out, all I saw as I commuted on the ferry were people with their noses in Harry Potter books. I suddenly felt like I had so much in common with people I knew nothing about! I know...crazy, but I will truly be sad when I read the last page of book 7.

I would too. I'd love to read a prequel. I love HP. But unfortunately she claims she won't :(

I know my daughter would probably die (as in overly excited, not drop down dead) if she heard that a prequel was going be written.
