100 Days of School is a pretty big deal for younger kids in elementary school. It celebrates that they've been in school for a long time and kids love to celebrate their accomplishments. If you have a child who is nearing their 100th day of school, prepare them in advance for the special day by reading them books that are about the 100 Day of School. The '100th Day of School' by Brenda Haugen is a nice non fiction book that will tell your kids about the history of the 100th day of school celebrations as well as the customs. 'The Night Before the 100th Day of School' by Natasha Wing is about a student is trying to find one hundred things to bring to school at the last minute. The boy finally comes to a decision on what to bring, something very special that won't leave anyone forgetting this 100th day of school. It is a book that is infused with humor and your child will get a laugh out of it. You can purchase it from Amazon.com for $3.99.

#4: '100 Days of School'

Trudy Harris has a really fun and colorful book called '100 Days of School.' The book is filled with fun rhymes and brightly illustrated pictures. There are rhyming questions that your child can answer (like how many of such and such are there in sets of such and such). Some pages will actually have the items for your child to count. #5: 'Count Up to the 100th Day Flip Chart'.

For a really interactive book, consider grabbing the 'Count Up to the 100th Day Flip Chart' by Maria Fleming. It is chock full of activities that each last around five minutes. You will want to prepare ahead of time as some activities need you to have items to count with the page (such as buttons, coins, etc). It is a great way to help your child learn about numbers too. #6: 'Henry's 100 Days of Kindergarten"

If you have a child that is in Kindergarten, buy them a book that is themed with their grade with 100 days of school. Nancy Carlson has written a cute book with animal characters called 'Henry's 100 Days of Kindergarten.' In Henry's class, the teacher adds one jellybean to a jar every day. When the jar has 100 jellybeans, they will have a party. The book goes over the different things that Henry and his class do until the big day. You can buy it from Borders for $5.99.

#7: 'Fancy Nancy The 100th Day of School'

Fancy Nancy is a familiar book character for kids that are recognized by children and adults alike. Jane O'Connor has written a Fancy Nancy book that is just for the 100th day of school. The book follows Nancy as she tries to decide what one hundred things to bring to school. Her quest has a roadblock when her pet goldfish dies and she works around her feelings with the loss.
