101 Cafe in Diamond Bar, California: Great Quality Food at Your Fingertips

A friend and I were looking for a new place to eat for a weekend lunch and we happened to come across the grand opening of the 101 Café located in the newly renovated Diamond Hills Plaza on 2763 South Diamond Bar Boulevard in Diamond Bar, California (zip code 91765). Diamond Bar is within the center of a thriving Asian community, so good Chinese food is not difficult to find. The key thing is the price. This new restaurant does not disappoint in quality or price.

The restaurant's menu has a good list full of appetizers, seafood, select meats, soups, rice and noodle dishes, and drinks. The price of appetizers average around $2.95- to $6 and the selection includes classic favorites such as fried tofu, steamed dumpling, mini pork buns, and much more. The main entrees pricings range from $3.75-$6.95, and include delectable dishes such as sautéed shrimp, Ma Po tofu, and chicken fried rice. The soups cost around $3.50 to $5.95 and have a wide variety to choose from such as fish ball soup, calm & ginger soup, pork wonton soup, and more. The drinks selection includes passion fruit iced slush, boba milk tea, strawberry milk, almond tofu drink, and many others. The price for drinks ranges from $1.50 to $3.25.

The great thing about this is that the portions are decent size and even larger that one would expect, especially for the soups and appetizers. This place also offers lunch specials which include a main entrée from a chosen selection, soup of the day, and a drink for only $6.95. Like most lunch specials at any restaurant, it is only available on weekdays. Ever since it has opened my friend and I have kept on going back and trying out new dishes without feeling guilty about how much money we are spending. I would highly recommend their fried tofu appetizer and their special Tainan Peddler Soup. This is a place that I look forward to going to when dining out and a place I would have already and will continue to recommend to friends and family. This is truly a great eatery to get excellent tasting, authentic Taiwanese style food for a mere fraction of the cost.
