The New York Giants have been dealing with a plethora of different injuries since the middle of summer. Head coach Tom Coughlin gave a brief injury update three days before the Giants host the Detroit Lions.

Keith Bulluck (turf toe) was "running around a bit better" and had a "limited number of snaps." He remains questionable for Sunday's game against the Lions.Osi Umenyiora (knee) was also limited, but he's expected to start.

Shaun O'Hara (ankle) took more snaps on Thursday than on Wednesday, but he is still listed as questionable. "I think he just has to keep feeling better after having worked," Coughlin said about O"Hara on Thursday. "He really hasn't pushed on anybody yet. That will be an interesting one. But he just has to improve that way and the medical people have to give him some kind of clearance."

Mathis Kiwanuka will receive an MRI at the end of the week. He has missed the last few games with a bulging cervical disk. Kiwanuka won't play against the Lions. Tom Coughlin had no further update on Kiwanuka's condition.

While Kiwanuka is claiming to be feeling less pain, there is serious concern that this injury could cost him the entire 2010 regular season. Thus far, the Giants defense has been just fine without him. Depth and injuries cost the Giants last season, though, and the defense is obvious better with Kiwanuka in uniform. We should know more about his injury after the MRI.
