11/26/10 Daily Dose of Nonsense

Weekend Edition

Scope it, as in Horoscope: One thing that is never far behind - - jealousy. And it is usually pretty ugly and can take many forms.

Bonehead Tip of the Day: Here's an idea. You just had the day off and had a few loaded turkey dinners, fresh with all the trimmings. Now what? Head to the stores and when things do not go exactly how you want it (and it never does) rip the employee a new one. Nothing is more enduring than ripping someone who had to work while you sat around all day solving the world's problems, with your belt and pants undone.

Trivia: "May Jupiter be with you" was uttered way back when. We use "God bless you." Well, some of us do. Get this. A rain frog lives in places that are dry and well away from water. Chances are pretty darn good that it will drown if put in water. If you see the tail of a kangaroo lifted off the ground it will not and cannot jump. Same things happens to me. Please take into consideration that those workers might have had to show up really early and stay late. Some even had to show up on Thanksgiving to get the store ready (not to mention, some stores were opened on that day).

The List: Weekend news dump.
On a holiday weekend, a more likely chance of getting that bad news or items out of the way and hope we forget about them by Monday.
1. Bad poll numbers.
2. Firing of a key staffer.
3. A conviction of member of your party. The other party gets the headlines.
4. Bad unemployment numbers.
5. It's also a good time to float those trial balloons to see if the idea makes it through to Monday. If not, most likely a bad idea and can easily be denied.
Oh there's more. Be aware.

Closer: Enough with the "special someone" phrase. Here's to all of us who are "not so special."
