12 Instructions from a Father

S. E. Masters
It is not good for a man to think of himself as wise. It is good, however, to provide a vision of the highway of life for his children.

• A father has seen more days than his son. How then can a son judge his wisdom unless he asks direct questions?
• Never take trouble to your father's friend, unless you tell him the whole truth in advance.
• Never think that your education or position makes you smarter than your father. But hope that he will continue to share his wisdom with you. Many fathers have out lived their sons.
• Though you may not be pleased with all of your father's ways, love him no matter what has happened. You will be blessed with days of wisdom and honor. You will be blessed with wisdom that he never knew.
• A daughter should share nothing more than her name and kindness. If a man has seen more than the part in her hair he has seen too much.
• Players break hearts. Disease is inevitable.
• God is real even when you are not in trouble. Honor him joyfully and respectfully as if your life depends on it.
• God is not the man upstairs. If a man were upstairs you would not get any sleep because of his constant partying and loud snoring.
• He is God. Weep if your spirit so moves you.
• Money is good for a while. Wisdom will choose the right door.
• Should you declare war on your enemy, do it while he is planning his plot. It's better to strike than defend; it's better to counsel with God than with Mr. Daniels or Mr. Walker or Mr. Beam or any of their friends.
• A movie can be played over and over and be seen by many. Your life is played only once; your eyes need the Spirit to guide them.
