Demi Lovato is a Disney star known for her roles in "Sonny With a Chance" and "Camp Rock". In addition to being a talented actress, she also is a singer. She has released two pop albums: Don't Forget and Here We Go Again. Her third album, Unbroken, is set to drop this September.

She grew up in Dallas, Texas and was raised by her mother and stepfather.

Sadly, other kids bullied her because of her weight. Being bullied resulted in her leaving public school at age 12 and also developing the eating disorder, bulimia. And now, she is an advocate against bullying.

The actress also began cutting herself at age eleven as a way of coping with her shame. She told Robin Roberts of 20/20 that cutting was a way for her to match her outsides with her insides.

After a meltdown of sorts where she punched a friend whom she felt betrayed by during touring with Jonas Brothers, Demi Lovato ended up seeking help from a residential treatment center called Timberline Knolls.

The teen star recently was also diagnosed with bipolar disorder.

One of the things that has helped Demi Lovato overcome her issues is the desire to set a good example for her little sister.

Demi Lovato's little sister Madison plays Eva Longoria's daughter on the TV show Desperate Housewives. Her older sister Dallas is also hoping to make it in the entertainment business.
