Cuisinart was founded by Carl Sontheimer and was the first company to manufacture food processors in 1973. Since 1989 the company has been managed by the Conair Corporation. Cuisinart makes high quality, innovative food processors as well as a variety of kitchen appliances such as ice cream makers, microwave ovens, waffle makers, pizza ovens, blenders, hand mixers, water filtration systems, popcorn makers, coffee makers, bake ware, and much more.
When I used to process food without a processor, I would usually use a blender to mix many different types of food items, but even my blender would not and could not handle heavy loads like a real food processor can. I also used a contraption that had to be hand cranked to chop and blend food, which was a very time consuming experience, not including the manual labor of churning the food by hand. I prayed for a real food processor that would slice, dice, chop, blend food with ease, and did not have to be churned manually. I was so happy when I received my first electric food processor- the 12 Cup Cuisinart Elite Collection Food Processor and in my opinion, it is the best one on the market today and processes food like no other.
The 12 Cup Cuisinart Elite Collection Food Processor comes with a 4 cup and 12 cup bowl with measurement markings, easy to pour spouts, has a safety device with an easy on and off locking system with a push button release, comes with a variety of slicing discs that are made from stainless steel, a dough blade to make fabulous breads and bakery items, is available in white or black die cast, and comes with a 10 year motor warranty.
The Cuisinart Food Processor has a powerful 1000 watt motor and a patent pending seal tight system that locks blades and seals the bowl. To turn the processor on and off, simply push the electric touch pad with On/Off buttons and blue LED lights. The processor has a wide feed tube to place your food through and all the removable parts can be placed in the dishwasher or washed by hand.
The 12-Cup Cuisinart Elite Collection Food Processor also comes with a recipe/ instruction book, spatula, and a DVD that shows you how to use the processor. I love the DVD, because it showed me how to properly use the machine and make delicious entrees, soups, dips, desserts, and much more.
I have used the 12 Cup Cuisinart Elite Collection Food Processor to make many things, such as homemade peanut butter using only roasted peanuts, so fast and easy. I have also made banana ice cream using frozen bananas, as well as delicious hummus, spelt bread, and great tasting smoothies made with frozen fruit, almond milk, and stevia.
The 12 Cup Cuisinart Elite Collection Food Processor chops, dices, mixes, shreds, and blends food quickly and efficiently. I only had one small problem; the large bowl would sometimes get stuck when I would try to remove it from its base, but I found out that it was my fault that this was occasionally happening, because I was not twisting the bowl off the base the correct way. It is important to always put the bowl on its base and turn it slightly clock wise and remove it counter clock wise.
I have really found the food processor of my dreams with the 12-Cup Cuisinart Elite Collection Food Processor and I cannot compare it with any other food processor, except to the inadequate hand cranked contraption that I used to use.
If I had to give the 12-Cup Cuisinart Elite Collection Food Processor a rating based on a scale from 1-10, I would give it a 10, because it really is that good of a food processor. There is so much more that I would like to tell you about this machine, but I think you should try it for yourself to really appreciate it. If you are looking for a hard working food processor that blends, chops, slices, and dices food easily, quickly, efficiently, looks great, and will make your cooking days a lot easier, then you have found it in the 12 Cup Cuisinart Elite Collection Food Processor. I know that you will love it!
