13 Incredibly Useful Ways to Reuse Aluminum Foil

Aluminum foil is an incredibly useful product. There is a good chance you might have a big ball of leftover aluminum foil collecting in your kitchen right now. Well, get out that big ball of foil and make good use of it. Here are 13 very useful ways, which I have learned, you can do to reuse aluminum foil before you send it off to the recycle bin.

Scrubber - After you have reused your aluminum foil to almost its last use crumble it up and use it as you would steel wool. Scrub those grimy pots and pans and grills.

Remove wrinkles from delicate fabrics - Many delicate fabrics cannot be ironed. But placing some foil underneath the the fabric and use the steam setting on your iron, steaming a few inches from the fabric will remove wrinkles. The aluminum helps reflect the heat to smooth fabric without damage from direct heat.

Keep heat from escaping on a barbecue grill - Lay a sheet of foil on top of a barbecue grill for about 10 minutes, then remove with a pot holder or tongs. The foil will keep heat concentrated on the grill and help you get those perfect stylish grill marks on your food. After you are done you can reuse the foil again.

Electronics - Most electronics have signal problems when they are stacked on top of each other, due to electromagnetic fields. To prevent the interference lay a sheet of aluminum foil on top of the electronic device and your other electronic device on top of that with the foil between the devices.

Painting around hardware - Cover door knobs and other hardware as well as trim with foil to prevent getting paint on them. The foil molds easily, holding its shape and rarely requires any tape.

Save a pie crust from burning - Often times the pie crust starts to brown long before the pie is done. Part way through the baking process fold a piece of foil around the pie pan creating a collar around the pie covering just the crust. It will allow the pie filling to continue cooking and the crust to stay perfectly brown.

Light reflector for photography - To save some money and still get the perfect lighting you need for your photos get a heavy piece of cardboard and cover completely with a piece of aluminum foil, tape it to keep it secure. The foil will help reflect the light to help create the perfectly lighted photo.

Keep birds away - Hang aluminum foil pieces from fruit trees to keep birds away. The light reflecting from the foil often keeps the birds away.

Sharpen scissor - Layer about 8 sheets of foil and cut through them, like your cutting paper, with your dull scissors to sharpen them.

Wrapping paper - Wrap presents with the aluminum and then use your creativity and decorate with permanent markers, pictures or fun scraps. Also include this list so the recipient can reuse the foil too.

A stripped out hole - When you have a hole that has wore itself too big stuff a bit of foil in the hole then drill as normal. The foil helps fill the hole and keep the screw tight.

Funnel - Place 2 pieces of foil together, one on top of the other, and roll them up and use as a funnel.

Catch spills - Lay a piece of foil in the bottom of an oven, fireplace, grill. The foil makes messes easier to clean up.

Excellent uses for used aluminum foil! I am trying so hard to reuse and recycle and I didn't have any ideas other than covering and recovering food until the foil got too ratty, for reusing it. Thank you so much for these great ideas!
