First we will discuss wearing scarves on or around the middle portion of the body.
Body Wrapped- To be body wrapped, take a large square scarf and fold it into a triangle. Tie this loosely around your waist. You may lay the triangle across either side or the front or back or you. Scarves with fringes look especially good when used to body wrap.
Body Rolled- Grab both ends of your scarf and twist it. Wrap this around the smallest part of your mid section. Cross ends and tuck them into the scarf or tie them off to secure. A long medium width scarf is best for this.
Tied Too- Tie a scarf to your belt loop, a purse, or your backpack to add a bit of a sexy flair to your look.
In this next section we will be discussing scarves that are worn around the neck.
Draped- Place the middle of your scarf on the back of your neck and drape the ends over both shoulders to lay on the front of you. You may also do this in reverse for a more sophisticated look.
Double Draped- Set the middle of your scarf on one side of your neck and wrap both ends around to the other side. Cross the ends draping one in front of you and one behind you.
Drape Wrapped- Loosely drape your scarf around the front of your neck and hang ends in back of you. Cross the ends and drape them over your shoulders so that they are laying on the front of you.
Classically Looped- Fold your scarf in half. Wrap it around your neck pulling both ends through the loop. The ends can be let drape over either side or in front or back of you. Experiment with it a bit to find what you like the best.
Cowgirl- Fold a square scarf into a triangle. Loosely wrap it around your neck and tie off the ends to secure. You may use a brooch or scarf pin to secure your scarf and add a bit of sexy flair. This look can be done in any direction giving it a bit of versatility.
Tight Rolled- Grab both ends of your scarf and twist it. Wrap it around your neck and tuck the ends in.
In the final section we will be talking about wearing scarves in your hair.
Hangin' 50's- Wrap a thin scarf around the bottom of your ponytail and tie in a knot on top of it. You may need to pin it to ensure that it stays in place. Let the ends hang down like they did in the 1950's.
Head Wrapped- For an easy boho styled look, wrap a scarf around your head and tie it in the back. This can work for any hair length and style.
Gypsy Squared- Fold a medium sized square scarf into a triangle. Place the middle of straight edge on top of your head, allowing the triangle to hang down the back of your head. Tie ends together at the back of your head underneath your hair. Pin your scarf in place.
Totally Taped- Thin scarves were sometimes used during the renaissance era to tape women's hair. Hair taping is rarely used in today's culture but you might find it to be the perfect style for the prom or any other very formal event. Keeps an eye out for an article on hair taping in my other works.
