February 10,2007 in downtown Orlando at Lake Eola Park from 9am till 1pm will be the kick off of this event. This years goal is to raise 125,000.If the raise more than that it will be a blessing in disguise. There will be food, games, even local company's with new hot items. So come out and bring your pet and enjoy the walk. The walk it's self is approx 1 mile.
Bring friends and family to join in on the fun.No one will be turned away.Remember this is one of the largest fundraising events for the SPCA.So the more the funnier it will be.If you don't feel up to the walk around Lake Eola than stop by one of the many teaching booths and activity tables that they will have set up.
SPCA is famous for their outreach programs and you will be able to learn all about them at this event.Funds will help keep these outreach programs going.Like cruelty investigations: education program for the public to teach humane education.
Or the Shelters manner program:This gives a second chance to our fellow four legged friends who might have been a little upset and gave a little nip because the big guy that stuck him in the truck is now moving his food dish. Our animal population keeps growing. It is out job to make sure we get our pets fixed.
It is also our job to help those who are misunderstood get a second chance at life. This program allows the pets to go through some training. After the training and they pass than they get to go home with a lucky family..So a little hard work and a second chance will make everyone happy.
If you can not make it for the event please feel free to donate.Even if you have only $5.00 dollars to spare. You can check out www.orlandopets.org.
If you would like to start your own team to win prizes for the highest office donations. Please contact at this e-mail address and they will set your team up. rlongley@ohs-spca.org.
There will be prizes for whom ever raises the most funds. So come one come all and let's help our furry friends find a better way of life. For those animal lovers out there help teach those who do not know the humane way of life..
Truly a day for the dogs!!!
