14 and Pregnant

On June 9, 2006, Chelsea Brooks, a 14 year old from Wichita, Kansas had plans of meeting her ex-boyfriend Elgin Robinson Jr, whom she called Ray. Previous Chelsea had been dating Ray but, she was forbidden to date Ray cause he was 20, and she was only 14. When Chelsea was age 10 that is when she first met Ray, he was 16 at the time, at the age of 12 Chelsea begin to developed a crush on Ray calling him her boyfriend, and putting his pictures up in her locker at her middle school. Ray had dropped out of school, and became a part time dish washer.
Chelsea thought it was cool to date a older guy cause he would buy her things and give her gifts. When Chelsea was 13 she told one of her friends that she had sex with Ray, that information got back to her parents, and they immediately called the police, but the police couldn't question Ray cause Chelsea wouldn't admit to having sex with him. Mrs. Brooks, Chelsea's mother warned Ray to forget he ever knew her daughter. By the fall of 2005, Chelsea realize she could be pregnant, in December she brought a test, and it confirm she was pregnant. Chelsea told Ray she was pregnant sometime after New Year's Eve, at first Ray seem happy, but later he realize he could be charged with statutory rape. Ray was afraid the police would find out he was the father through DNA tests. Later in January 2006 Ray came up with a sick plan to go somewhere private so he could kick her in her stomach in hopes that maybe she would miscarry. Chelsea had plans of doing so, until she told one of her friends about it, and her friend talked her out of it. Chelsea told her parents she was pregnant, and the father was a 15 year old boy, but later told the truth that Ray was the father.

On February 13, 2006 Mrs. Brooks filed a petition for a protective order to force Ray to stay away from Chelsea. The judge ruled that Ray couldn't contact Chelsea, or he would be arrested. On June 9, 2006, Chelsea was with her friends at a popular skating a hang out place for teens. Ray called Chelsea and told her, he wanted to see her and he was gonna send his friend Everett around 8pm to pick her up. Everett came and got Chelsea and dropped her off at his sister's house an hour passed and no Ray, so Everett came and got Chelsea to take her back to the skate rink, where her friends was waiting for her. She sent a text message to one of her friends, saying she was on her way back with Everett ,and another guy name Ted that Everett had to drop off first. A few minutes later Ted wrapped a cord around her neck, and pulled it until she stopped kicking.

Ted dragged her body out of the car, while Everett was digging a hole with a shovel from the trunk of the car, and Ted dropped Chelsea's body into the grave facedown and coverd her with dirt. Her friends got worried and called her parents. One June 24, two men working in a field found her body and called the police. The police question Everett cause he was the last person known to see her alive, and he broke down and confessed that Ray had ask him to get rid of Chelsea, and had offered Ted five hundred dollars to kill her. All three men was charged with murder, and if found guilty Ray, and Ted could face the death penalty. By killing Chelsea, Ray was thinking he would gain freedom, but hopefully he have lost it forever, for making Chelsea lose her precious young life over his own foolishness decisions.
