141 Piece E.L.F Studio Makeup Palette Review

Jennifer Burss
The search for quality cosmetics that are also inexpensive is becoming more of a challenge in many ways recently. Drugstore cosmetics are becoming more advanced driving up prices of make up products. After wanting and needing a whole new set of cosmetics, but not wanting to pay $8-20 for each individual item, I went on the search for makeup kits.

EyesLipsFace is a fairly new brand of cosmetics, items from which can be found in most drugstores and family based department stores such as Target and Wal-mart. Most ELF brand cosmetics however must be purchased online. Placing my order at the ELF website was easy and very similar to doing so on most other merchant websites.

Since I needed makeup for all parts of my face, I wanted something for which I could pay one price, was going to have versatility, and have as close to everything for making up my whole face as possible. The ELF 141 Piece Makeup Palette contains 86 eye shadows,36 lip colors, 4 bronzes, 4 concealers, 4 shimmer creams, and 6 blushers. The palette comes housed on a sleek tiered black case. Miniature brushes and a large portable mirror are also included.

The colors in this palette range from creams and off-whites to dark turquoise. All of the products are highly pigmented which means a little goes a long way. There are shades that suit many skin tones. The eye shadows come in three different finishes. Opalescent, matte, and glitter shadows are available to fit almost any occasion or mood.

The lip colors range from classic red to clear lip gloss with glitter. All of the colors in this palette blend easily onto the skin. The blushers come in six shades, four of which are shades of pink with various undertones. The concealer creams come in what may seem like odd colors. The bright yellow covers bluish flaws like dark circles and areas where the skin is thinner and capillaries show through. The green covers pimples and any other redness in the skin. White brightens any other dark areas or areas where shadows may fall on the face. The purple concealer minimizes any sallow tones on the face. When using these concealers remember they are very potent and a large amount isn't needed.

In all this palette is very useful and versatile. The blushes and shimmer creams can be used as eye shadows and highlighters. A dampened make up brush can be dipped into any of the eye colors or bronzers for use as eyeliner. This palette's brushes, however, leave much to be desired. They fall apart easily during use, it is better to have your own brushes and sponges ready to apply your make up.

This palette is an excellent value, even at its non-sale price of $ 40.00(I purchased this product on sale for half price). Most people would be hard pressed to find such quality products together in a palette with a mirror and brushes included for $ 20.00. I would highly recommend ELF products and this palette to anyone who enjoys cosmetics, but doesn't want to spend a lot of money.
