Help support the SPCA of Central Florida by attending the 14th Annual Paws in the Park on Saturday, February 16 beginning at 9 a.m. at Lake Eola Park in downtown Orlando, Florida.

The event's main feature is a pet walk, approximately one mile around Lake Eola. Enter yourself or support another walker.

This year's fundraising goal is $150,000. This money goes to support programs like these:

Cruelty Investigation Program -- Educating residents of the tri-county area about humane treatment of animals, investigating allegations of cruelty and saving four-legged victims of abuse.

Shelter Manners Program -- Giving a second chance to dogs that need a little extra training before being made available for adoption.

Other events throughout the day include games and contests, pet-related vendors and entertainment.

Each individual who raises at least $5,000 will receive six (6) days and five (5) nights at any Marriott or Renaissance Hotel & Resort locations within North, South, and Central America, Hawaii and the Caribbean (approximately 400 hotels). The package includes breakfast for two (2) for all six days, one (1) dinner for two, and a $250 Marriott Travel Card. Visit the Web site for more details about other prizes.

What a wonderful event for the SPCA! I just adopted a dog myself (Corgi/Beagle) mix & am finding I'm more of a dog lover than I thought!
