1. Egg Rolling- Each person playing this game will need one hard-boiled egg. You will also need a starting line and a finish line. You can do this game indoors or outdoors so they can be on carpet, grass, hills, or throw in a few obstacle courses. The first player who gets their egg from the starting line to the finish line wins. You decide how players get their egg across the line. They can either stand and push the egg with their feet, or get down on their hands and knees and push the egg with their noses. Very entertaining!
2. Easter Egg Bowling- This is another game that you can play indoors or outdoors. You will need several hardboiled eggs. All of the eggs should be colored with the exception of one. Set the white egg up on the lawn or carpet a few feet away. Now, everyone takes turns to see who can roll their colored egg closest to the white egg. All of the eggs stay in the place they were rolled until everyone gets a chance to roll. The person who is the closest wins. If two eggs are equally close then you must have a tie breaker.
3. Egg Toss- You only want to play this game outdoors since the eggs used are not cooked. Break each player into a team with a partner. Line the players up in two rows so that the partners are facing each other. Give everyone in the first row a raw egg. They will toss it to their partner in the second row. After tossing the egg, the players will take a step back so that the distance between them and their partner is larger. The second player will then toss their egg and take a step back. Repeat this until there is only one egg unbroken.
4. Walk the Egg- For this game you will need two hard boiled eggs and one spoon for each player. Divide the players into two teams and have them form a line so that each player on one team is standing side by side. The first child in line puts an egg on their spoon and passes it to the next person in line. The egg can only be passed from spoon to spoon. No one can touch it with their hands. The egg must go all the way to the end of the line and then back to the person at the front of the line. The team to get their egg at the front of the line wins.
5. Egg and Spoon Race- For this game you will need enough hard boiled or raw eggs and one spoon for each player. Players will hold their egg in their spoon. They must get from the starting line to the finish line without dropping the egg.
6. Straw and Easter Cup Relay- Each child needs one bendable straw and each team will need one plastic cup. The cup should preferably be Easter themed. Each child will hold the straw in their mouth on the end that you would drink from. Line the teams up and give the first person in line a cup. Place it on the end of their straw. They must pass the cup to the next person in line and they cannot touch the cup with anything other than the straw. The first team who gets their cup to the end of the line wins.
7. Pass the Easter Egg- For this game you will divide players into even teams. Line the teams up and give each team a plastic egg or a hard boiled egg. The first person on each team will put the egg under their chin. They must pass the egg from their neck and chin to the neck and chin of the player next to them. They may not touch the egg with anything else. If a player drops the egg it must go back to the front of the line and start over. The first team to get their egg all the way to the end of the line wins.
8. Duck Walk Race- You will need to create a starting line and a finish line for this game. Each player will stand at the starting line, squat down, and grab their ankles with each hand from behind. When everyone is ready say 'go' and the players must waddle like a duck to the finish line. The first person who crosses the line wins the game.
9. How Many Eggs- For this game you will need one large glass jar filled with chocolate eggs, scrap paper, an Easter basket, and a few pencils. Place the jar of eggs in a place where everyone can see it. Children must guess how many eggs are in the jar, write their name and guess on a piece of scrap paper, and place the paper in the Easter basket. The person who guesses closest wins the jar of chocolate eggs. You can also do this with jelly beans!
10. Pin the Tail on the Easter Bunny- This game is just like Pin the Tail on the Donkey. You will need to create a large picture of a bunny and several paper bunny tails. Hang the picture of the bunny on the wall and place a piece of tape on each bunny tails. One at a time you will blindfold the players, spin them around a couple of times, and then have them attempt to get their tail onto the picture of the bunny. You can also mix this up. Instead, create a paper Easter basket and several paper Easter eggs. Now you have Pin the Egg on the Basket.
11. Easter Bunny Tag- This is just a game of tag where players must hop instead of run. This game is really good for younger children with a lot of engery!
12. What's in the Easter basket?- For this game you will need a large box. Decorate it with Easter themed paper or as an extra activity let the children draw Easter pictures on it before the game starts. When no one is looking you will add a few Easter items to the box. These items can be whatever you would like. A few ideas are a toy Easter bunny, an Easter DVD, a ball, a yoyo, bubbles, an Easter Egg, or a boxed chocolate Easter Bunny. Children will reach their hand into the box without looking and pick up one item. They will feel of the item and try to guess what it is by touch only. If you have enough items you can let the children keep the item that they pull out of the box.
13. Bunny hop race- This is a game that is great for younger kids. You will need to set up and starting line and a finish line. Instead of running the children will hop to the finish line. The first person who crosses the line is the winner.
14. Easter Memory- You will need 20 laminated cardstock Easter eggs for this game. On the back of two cards draw the same picture or write the same word. Keep it Easter themed! Repeat this with all twenty cards. Make sure that you have two cards with the same picture on the back, but do not repeat the same picture on more than two cards. Lay the cards out on a table or the floor with the pictures or words face down. Players take turns flipping over two cards. They must try to remember where matches are. Once a child finds a match they pick up the cards and keep them until the game is over. The person with the most cards at the end of the game is the winner. You can use less or more sets of cards depending on the number of players and how old they are.15. Freeze- For this game you will need several children's Easter songs and a way to play the music. When the music starts everyone will start dancing. When you hit stop they must freeze. No one can move after the music stops. If they do move, they will be out. The last person standing is the winner.
