Easy Date Ideas for Couples

No matter if you just met "the one" or have been married for 20 years, every couple needs a little time to themselves. The following free date ideas can be done no matter how long you've been together, and no matter where you are.

1. Stroll in the Park
As clique as it seems, it can actually turn into an enjoyable afternoon. Pick a public park that has something of interest to see or do, such as a nature trail or biking area.

2. Go Fish
If you have the equipment and bait, go fishing. Make sure both partners are willing to do this activity, though, since fishing is not for everyone.

3. Still Life
Some museums or art centers offer free admission, either on certain days or all the time. Taking afternoon stroll around a free museum can spark interesting and stimulating conversation.

4. Movie Night
In order for this one to be completely free, you'll have to locate on a movie on TV (or instant play on Netflix, if you have it). Check the schedule ahead of time, and pick something you'll both enjoy. Pop some popcorn in the microwave, and snuggle up on the couch!

5. Curb It
With gas prices so high, going for a drive isn't exactly a cheap or free idea. Instead of driving, find a location with a beautiful or interesting scenery, and just park. Turn up the music in the car, or just sit and chat.

6. Just Dance
Not in the mood for the club? Dance together in your own living room. It may sound a little cheesy, but remember, you get to pick the music and set your own mood. Once the music is on, you may even choose to make it your own personal Karaoke night.

7. Window Shop
You don't have to spend money to admire what's on sale at the stores. Pick places with higher ticket items, just to browse and make an "I wish" list.

8. Story Time
Do you have a book you are both fond of or want to read? Read aloud to one another, pausing every so often to discuss what's been read. Take turns reading so it doesn't become monotonous. This may sound like a strange idea, but if it's a book intriguing to you both, it's like watching a movie together.

9. Live Music
If your community offers free concerts in parks or bars, taking a date is a fantastic idea. Keep your eyes open for signs announcing events around town.

10. Go for a Swim
Is there a lake or beach nearby? If the weather is nice, you can both go for a swim. Or better yet, just hang out on the beach with your feet in the sand and talk.

11. Show Some Love
While women tend to feel sad around caged animals, you can still enjoy yourselves by visiting with the purpose of showing the homeless cats and dogs some love. If time permits, you might even think about volunteering together for the day. You never know, you may take home a new pet!

12. Baby It's Cold Outside
Is it too cold to do anything outdoors? Not if you go sledding or snowboarding! There are plenty of parks with hills for this favorite childhood activity.

13. Picture Perfect
Do you own a digital camera, and like taking pictures? Go on a hunt to take some fantastic pictures around the neighborhood, or at a local nature spot. See how many beautiful shots you can capture, and compare the results when you get home.

14. Poker Face
Spend a few hours playing cards together. If the weather is nice, take the game outside. Teach one another card games, or try something neither of you have played before.

15. Go Exploring
Is there an area of town neither of you have been before? If so, go exploring. Anything new and unexplored makes a fun adventure.
