15 Fun and Frisky Things to Do when You Are 50 Years Old

What is Your Secret Desire?

Dragonfly
Yes, we are 50 or maybe you aren't quite there yet. In any event, we are hoping upon hope you aren't acting an old and boring 50.

Tell me why we must act our age? We have been behaving for the first 50 years and most likely have tired of the same old way way of thinking. Let's refer to our next 50 years as "the frisky 50's". We have earned the right to display a little "shock factor". Remember, we are not dead yet and the skies the limit when it comes to adventure. The real question is, are you game? Stop thinking your behavior has to make sense to everyone. We only go around once. Live fully and have no regrets.

We have compiled a list to...............yes...............that's right...............to hopefully shock you into a new way of thinking. Are you brave enough to try any of these things? If you have, I hope we get tons of comments to show those around us that there's still lots of life in our belly.

1. Get a tattoo. Make it a symbolic gesture or a testimony to a meaningful event in your life.

2. Try a piercing. Doesn't have to be a visible one.

3. Instead of the usual hair color, try orange or red highlights.

4. Keep your hairstyle messy and trendy. Not stiff and sprayed. messy hair is a sexy thing.

5. Empower yourself by becoming more outspoken.

6. Paint your toenails blood red and try a toe ring.

7. Get rid of the bra and try a camisole with shelf bra.

8. Try a thong! You won't know till you try.

9. Ladies, try a younger man.

10. Men, try an older woman.

11.Buy that first sex toy.

12. Ditch the pj's, sleep in the nude.

13. Try role-playing in your romantic encounters.

14.Take your partner out to eat, and leave your panties at home!

15. Text a sexy message to your spouse, and invite him home an hour early.

So, what do you think? Do any of these things intrigue you enough to try? It is really about what you want to do, not what other people will think. You need to start thinking outside of that normal, boring box . You will be surprised at the feeling you will have when you try one or several of these things. Imagine what your partner will think when they realize you are attempting to get rid of some long, overdue inhibitions.

We are so conditioned to thinking we "need" to act a certain way, respond in a certain way, react in a way that is acceptable. What is that saying I used to hear, "boring women don't make history". We all too often see folks fall into a boring, negative life and wonder where all the fun went. You have to create some.

I am sending a challenge to all who find this an interesting article to let me know what you think, what you feel about living life to the fullest!

I got out all the stuff I wanted to do in my forties and I'm glad I did it! I went out dancing, dating, exploring and now I find it's time for writing and reflection. With the drop in estrogen around 50, I'm finding a new focus . . . now it's visiting book stores, writing, cooking and swimming.

I do believe in mixing it up. I tried dying my red hair dark. It didn't work for me but at least I gave it a shot. I've done the toe ring thing. I've also done 4,5, and 15, but that's about as frisky as I'm willing to get.

I like when you got to Number 10 and suddenly said, "Men . . ." As if we men were considering some of those first nine ideas!! As for Number 10, I turned 52 the day you posted this and wifey is 56 1/2 (altho she looks younger than me), so can't go there or already am there, whatever. As for Number 5, am already too outspoken. But you know what? You have a gift, because non-writers think humor is the easiest thing to write, when actually it can be the toughest. Seriously, I'll offer a Number 16 that may not seem so frisky, but an older scolder might enjoy it: Take a class at your local community college, or find some other way to get into a discussion group with young folk. You'll love IT and they'll love YOU. When I was a teen at my local community college, the 50-plus students were the ones who made it real. -- Mike
