Delicious Recipe Ideas for Cubed or Sliced Ham

Ham and Easter go hand in hand like turkey and Thanksgiving. And just like there are many uses for leftover turkey after Thanksgiving there are plenty of ways you can use leftover ham from Easter. In fact, I am going to share with you 15 ways you can use that leftover ham in delicious recipes.

Leftover Easter Ham Use #1: Cubed ham can be added to plain egg salad and used for sandwiches. Just mix the ham together with diced boiled eggs (painted Easter eggs would work well here) and add some mayonnaise and mustard.

Leftover Easter Ham Use #2: Another use for leftover ham is for sandwiches. Leftover ham can be sliced thin and used to create lunchtime sandwiches. These also make a delicious dinner the night after Easter when you are still too tired from cooking Easter dinner.

Leftover Easter Ham Use #3: Diced ham can be added to a baked potato soup to add some protein and flavor. You can either add it to homemade baked potato soup or just mix it in with a can of pre-made baked potato soup if you don't have a lot of time.

Leftover Easter Ham Use #4: Another idea for leftover ham is to cube it and add it to your salad. The ham will give your salad a protein boost making it more filling. Add cubed ham along with leftover boiled eggs from Easter to create a delicious lettuce salad worthy of a main course meal.

Leftover Easter Ham Use #5: Potato salad is a great take along for picnics and as a side dish for a BBQ. You can create a tasty twist to traditional potato salad by adding cubed ham to the mix as well.

Leftover Easter Ham Use #6: Ham and cheese omelets are delicious when eaten for breakfast or for brunch. Simply cube your ham and add it, along with shredded cheddar, and place on one side of the scrambled egg pancake and fold the egg over. Enjoy! This makes a delicious next day breakfast after Easter.

Leftover Easter Ham Use #7: Diced ham is an essential addition to homemade split pea soup. Split pea soup generally consists of split green peas, ham, carrots, onions, salt and pepper, and water. Easter ham can be turned into this delicious soup by allowing it to simmer altogether in a crock pot or more quickly on the stovetop.

Leftover Easter Ham Use #8: There are plenty of casseroles which you could use the leftover ham from Easter for. For ham casserole recipe ideas visit this link.

Leftover Easter Ham Use #9: Fried rice is delicious and is a useful way to use up many different leftovers. Diced ham, peas, scrambled eggs, leftover rice, and a bit of seasoning can create delicious fried rice as a dinner side dish or main course.

Leftover Easter Ham Use #10: Cubed ham can also add flavor to your package of ramen noodles. Add in some rice and chopped boiled eggs and you have yourself a filling meal.

Leftover Easter Ham Use #11: My family loves corned beef hash thrown over rice and topped with a fried egg. Because this dish is not a very healthy one I wouldn't recommend you make it often. However you can make your own ham hash by substituting corned beef with ham and frying it up in some butter along with cubed potatoes. Diced onions also make a great addition to this dish.

Leftover Easter Ham Use #12: Kabobs are delicious and can make a quick snack or lunch on any given day. To make your ham kabobs simply alternate your leftover Easter ham with cubes of cheese. These kabobs can make an informal snack for a get together and can benefit as well from some cubed pineapple.

Leftover Easter Ham Use #13: Sliced ham can be made into cracker toppers along with a piece of swiss cheese. Children can take leftover ham along with crackers and cheese in a divided container for an imitation "Lunchable" for their school lunch.

Leftover Easter Ham Use #14: Diced ham makes a great addition to macaroni and cheese making it an even more filling lunch or dinner time dish. In fact macaroni and cheese is a versatile dish which can be customized by adding many different types of ingredients such as chopped onions, bell peppers, cubed cheese, carrots, and peas which would all make great additions along with the ham.

Leftover Easter Ham Use #15: Now we are down to the last use for that leftover Easter ham. Another way to serve ham for breakfast, besides the omelet above, is to fry it up and serve it along side eggs as a fried ham steak. This would work nicely in the place of bacon or sausage on your breakfast plate. Or you could place the fried ham steak on top of a bagel along with fried eggs and cheese for your own homemade breakfast sandwich.

With all of these delicious ideas above for using leftover Easter ham you just may find yourself buying a bigger ham than you originally intended. Go ahead! The versatility of ham makes it a very useful and handy leftover.
