Procrastination is sneaky. It sneaks up on you at the most unexpected times, it convinces you to drag your feet, and it ultimately have you behind schedule or dreading tasks that need to be done. So here are some ways that you can avoid or move past procrastination.

1. Get your most important projects done before noon. For most people, the most productive time of the day is 8am - 2pm EST. During this time the things that you have to get done are most fresh in your mind and you have more energy to get them done.

2. Start with your easiest projects done first. Starting out with your easiest projects first will save you a lot of time and also increase the amount of time that you have to spend on more demanding projects.

3. Break your harder projects up into sections. By breaking your harder projects up rather than trying to tackle them all at one time keeps down a lot of stress and frustration, which often leads to procrastination.

4. Consider working with a partner. If you find that you are swamped with a lot of projects, find a good partner to work with. This can make your job a heck of a lot easier and will take loads of stress off of your back.

5. Schedule and plan your projects. Instead of just doing projects as you have time, schedule alotted time for each project. That way it will be easier to guide your focus where it needs to be.

6. Do more working than talking. Whether you work from home or in some other type of business office, you can't allow talking to interfere with your work. Excessive talking not only takes up a lot of time, but it also disturbs your focus. Now notice that I said "excessive" that means you can talk just don't overdo it.

7. Never over promise on projects. Over promising on a project can scare you into procrastination. It is better to under promise and over achieve rather than over promis and under achieve. This will not only keep you on the right track, you will get great reviews on your work.

8. Learn how to be your own motivation. Motivation plays a big part in being productive and you have to learn how to be your own motivation. In doing that you will become skillfull in keeping your focus, starting projects and getting them finished, as well as getting things done on a good time schedule.

9. Don't second guess yourself. Second guessing yourself is a big reason that people procrastinate. You have to be confident that you are handling the project the best that you can and you cannot allow anyone else to make you feel otherwise. As long as you are putting in as much effort as you can and you are producing results that people are looking for then you will be just fine.

10. Stay calm. Sometimes it can be frustraging when you are having trouble completing a project, but it is important to stay calm rather than getting worked up because that frustration makes it a lot easier for you to put that project off to a later time or date.

11. Don't forget to reward yourself. Staying focused on a specific project for a long period of time is a true accomplishment and you should reward yourself for getting through it. It is up to you what the reward will be but you have to make sure that it is constructive and it gives you a boost of energy for the next assignment.

12. Don't be a perfectionist. Now fo rthose sof you that are dedicated to what you do, being a perfectionist can become a serious problem. You feel that no matter what you do, the work is not good enough. You have to avoid this mind set because it will definitely keep you from completing your projects and it will affect the quality of your work.

13. No TV while working. Ladies I know you like to watch your favorite Soaps or Talk Shows while working but it does slow down your productivity. And not only that you get so deep into the TV that it makes your projects seem so much more dreadful when you have to get back to work.

14. When you don't feel like doing it, force yourself to do it. You are not always going to feel like doing your work, but that doesn't mean don't do it. What it means is you have to push yourself harder to get it done. So when you find yourself saying "I will do it later" or "I don't have to do it right now" then that should send up a red flag that says DO IT NOW!

15. Work at your desk. Working from a desk is more productive than trying to work from you bed or couch with your laptop. Working from your desk is good for your posture and it is not as straining for your eyes. Straining your eyes from working in awkward positions is one cause for people walking away from projects.

So there you have it - 15 ways that you can kick procrastination in the butt!
