.) Store wrapping paper rolls - With Christmas, birthdays and many other celebrations it's hard to store all the left over rolls of wrapping paper. Instead of using a rubber band and having them still flail about your closet ripping and tearing try an old pair of pantyhose. Stuff the wrapping paper roll tube inside the legs of the pantyhose. It will protect them from tearing and other damage. Hang them from a hook and add more space to your storage area.
.) Soap remnants - Cut the foot off a pair of pantyhose and put in all the little pieces of soap that are too small to use alone and often get thrown away, then tie. All the pieces will add up to a nice soapy cloth for your shower.
.) Soap bar holder - Put a bar of soap in a leg of a pair of pantyhose and hang it in the shower. It will prevent the hard to clean build up of soap on the soap dish and can be used without removing it from the nylons. The nylon will also act as a gentle exfoliator on your skin.
.) Clean your car grille - It is a sad fact for bugs that our driving often leads to the loss of their lives. That fact also leads to very hard to clean area of our cars. Take an old pair of pantyhose and give them a quick soak in some soapy water. Use them to clean the car grille and other buggy areas of your car. The pantyhose will scrub off the hard to clean splats without ruining your finish.
.) Odor absorber - Add cat litter to a cut off pantyhose leg and hang or store it in an area that has odors. The pantyhose are a great way to contain the odor absorbing cat litter to help deodorize small areas.
.) Keep soil in pots - Cut off part of one of the legs of the pantyhose and ball it up or lay it flat on the bottom of the planter pot. This will prevent soil from coming out of the drainage holes, but still allow water to drain threw.
.) Prevent dough from sticking - It can be a pain when preparing something special for your family and the dough keeps sticking to the rolling pin and adding more flour can sometimes ruin the dough. If you have an extra pair of clean pantyhose cut off one of the legs and place the rolling pin inside. The dough wont stick to the nylon and it will help you create a nice smooth dough.
.) Apply stain - It can be hard to get every nook and cranny when staining items like dressers and chairs. Cut a large strip of the pantyhoses, fold a few times and place over a Popsicle stick and hold it on with a rubber band. Dip it in stain and use to reach the nooks and crannies without spend extra money for a special tool.
.) Deodorant remover - Ever accidentally get deodorant on your shirt in a rush to get out the door? A quick fix to remove deodorant marks is to get a dry pair of pantyhose and rub it on the area in a circular motion. The nylon is mildly abrasive and will gently remove the deodorant from the fibers of the fabric.
.) Mic filter - If you record vocals on your computer, or other audio device, a piece of a pair of pantyhose can be used to act as a filter, to prevent popping and other unwanted noises often heard when recording vocals, similar to the one professionals use. Get a small craft ring (larger than your mic.) Cut a piece of the pantyhose out and fit it inside the craft ring, close and lock it. Hook it to something that will allow it to sit in front of your microphone.
.) Pond Skimmer - If you have a wire clothes hanger lying around grab it and pull it open. Slide a pantyhose leg over the hanger and use it as a pond or pool skimmer, to remove pond scum or debris from your pool.
.) Crafts/Stuffing - If you are a crafter, or know a crafter, collect all your old pantyhose and use them as stuffing in place of store bought stuffing in almost any craft. They can even be stuffed and used to make craft dolls.
.) Strainer - Pour old paint through the leg of the hose to strain the lumps from the paint. Use them in the kitchen to replace cheesecloth.
.) Buff shoes - Store some old pantyhose with your shoe polishing supplies. Ball one up and use it to quickly buff your shoes.
.) Scrub sinks and tubs - Ball up a leg of one of the hose and use it to scrub around sinks and tubs in your house. The nylon is abrasive enough to scrub away grime, but gentle enough to not scratch material.
