16 Uses For a Deactivated Cell Phone

Before You Throw Away that Deactivated Cell Phone Consider This. . .

Depending on the type of cell phone that you have will greatly affect if you will have these options. However before you throw away that deactivated cell phone of yours, after you have properly disposed of the battery of course, consider that you can use it for many other things.

1. Clock
You can still set the time on a deactivated cell phone and a deactivated cell phone can still display time.

2. Alarm Clock
If you want to have a battery powdered clock so if the electricity goes out in the middle of the night you will still have an alarm wake you up you can use your deactivated cell phone. Some cell phone alarm clocks even come with a snooze option.

3. Calendar
All cell phone will tell you the date but some of them even have a built in calendar that still works regardless if the cell phone is activated or not.

4. Date Reminders
Most of the time when a cell phone offers a calendar they will also offer the ability to set a reminder when it becomes a certain day.

5. Stopwatch
Stopwatches can be handier than you think and are a lot easier to use then staring at the seconds on a digital clock or at the hands of a watch to time someone. When your cell phone comes with a built in stopwatch you will still be able to use it even though your phone is deactivated.

6. Calculator
Most cell phones don't offer scientific calculators, but even being able to add, subtract, multiply and divide can be helpful and this is something that you can do with any cell phone that has a calculator.

7. Phone Book
You can use your deactivated cell phone to store phone numbers that you want to be able to refer back to.

8. Email Address Book
You can use your deactivated cell phone to store email addresses that you want to be able to refer back to.

9. Text Notes
You can make notes on your deactivated cell phone, even if it doesn't give you the option of taking notes you can save a text message and come back to it.

10. Record Notes
Some cell phones offer you the ability to take notes and some even allow you to speak into your phone to make a note. This ability will still remain after you have deactivated your phone.

11.Gaming System
Any games that your cell phone came with will still be able to be played after you have deactivated your cell phone, so you can use it as a gaming system.

12. Write Songs
Some of the cell phones that offer different ring tones will allow you to write your own, so you can save ring tones that you wrote even after the phone is deactivated.

13. Camera
If the phone that you had was a camera phone you can still take pictures after it is deactivated so it can be a digital camera.

14. Pager (Temporarily)
Depending on the cell phone provider that you used will determine how long you will receive phone calls to your cell phone number, that is if you didn't transfer the number to another cell phone. Sometimes for 3 to 6 months if someone calls your deactivated cell phone you can see who is calling, although you can't answer the phone, you can call the number back on a separate phone.

15. Flashlight
Some cell phones come with a built in flashlight, even though the cell phone may be deactivated the flashlight will still work.

16. Emergency Phone
Don't forget, there is always one number that a deactivated cell phone can still dial, 911. If you have a car charger for your phone you can keep the phone in the car so if you are ever in an accident you will be able to call for help.
