Earlier this week, my power was out due to a powerful wind/rainstorm. It was out for a day and a half, so I was reduced to writing via cell phone for that period of time. My cell phone has a memo pad in it in which you can only use 160 characters, so I decided to write a couple 160 character poems. They are really dreary since I was bummed about the power being out, but enjoy.
Darkness
As I'm sitting here in my misery,
complete darkness.
Except for the light caused by
the weakness in my heart.
I am just an image of nothing.
Empty space.
See me?
Holes
Sometimes I feel like I dig holes
that aren't big enough.
and then I bury myself in shame,
the only friend I have in this world.
Something to fill my absences with.
