1965 Mercury Park Lane Breezeway: Classic Car Review

The 1965 Mercury Park Lane Breezeway was a car that began a major change for the full size Mercury's, which brought comfort into the foreground. These cars came standard with a four-coil suspension for a quiet ride that could enjoyed by anyone in the car.

Of course, adding to the suspension increased the wheelbase and length of the car, but that did not slow down buyers who knew the valve of the company name. When the 1965 Mercury Park Lane Breezeway first emerged on the scene, it was the auto to buy.

All the breezeway models because of that suspension addition changed in outer appearances, except for the wagons. 1965 Mercury Park Lane Breezeway no longer looked like a ford on the outside, although it certainly was a ford on the inside.

These new models had straight front fenders, taillights that were now vertical, but these were not the only outward changes. The grill also changed within these new 1965 Mercury Park Lane Breezeway models which had a projecting center section on a parallel bar grille, making them appear to be more like a mercury.

Changes also to the engine set up, the breezeway style as it was called, was only available on sedans with four doors. These changes made people stop and think about the purchase of the 1965 Mercury Park Lane Breezeway because those changes added to the purchase price, understandably production fell over previous year's sales.

Consumers could purchase the same amount of car from a different company and pay less for it. The only real difference between the 1965 Mercury Park Lane Breezeway and its closest competitor was the straight-line fenders, vertical taillights and the way the engine was set up, along with a higher price tag.

It is understandable why sales of the 1965 Mercury Park Lane Breezeway went down, but it did begin the change for the better full sized Mercury's', which was an excellent step in the right direction.

Owning the 1965 Mercury Park Lane Breezeway is comparable to owning a fine piece of automotive history, as it began the streamlined Mercury line, which we still see today. This one is hot on classic car lists, which came with a v-6 engine standard for 3,988 but you could add a v8 engine, air conditioning, and multi drive or overdrive transmissions as well, but they understandably made the price rise. The 1965 Mercury Park Lane Breezeway vehicles that show up at car shows often and seem to be very popular with classic car buffs of all ages.
