In the 1980s, we had the war on drugs, MTV, Madonna, Michael Jackson, Nintendo, the assassination of John Lennon, the Challenger disaster, Rubik's Cube, Cabbage Patch Kids, Smurfs, and The Brat Pack. We also had big hair, side ponytails, jheri curl, hair crimping, leggings, "Members Only" jackets, shoulder pads, acid wash jeans and jackets, leg warmers, ripped sweatshirts, Jellies, leotards, Hawaiian shirts, bleached and ripped jeans, Swatches, and many more hard to forget fashion trends in the 80s. There were so many looks that regular people tried to imitate from their favorite celebrities like Michael Jackson, Madonna, Olivia Newton-John, David Bowie, Don Johnson from Miami Vice, Run DMC, and even Jennifer Beals from Flashdance. You can bring these styles back for one night only on October 31st. If you already wore these fashion trends back in the 80s, then you can relive the past for Halloween. If you were born in the 1980s, then out shine your Generation Y friends by wearing the fashion of the past.

Hair was a very big part of the 80s, literally. Everybody sported big hair from the Valley Girls to the glam rock bands. You can tease and spray your hair with all kinds of chemicals. Or you can go to a hair store and buy the biggest, cheapest, and tackiest hair you can find. If you have short hair, then you don't have to buy a wig because short hair was very popular back then too. Whatever hairstyle you choose, just make sure that your hair color is very colorful.

Fashion took off in the 1980s. You had so many different styles of clothes to choose from. Mainly, people got their influence of their clothing from popular music and movies. All you have to do is rent your favorite 80s movie and copy their style. Or copy Madonna or Michael Jackson styles from the 80s. You can find popular 80s clothes from thrift stores and flea markets or even online. Just remember that leggings, shoulder pads, high top sneakers, gigantic belts, and Flashdance sweatshirts were very popular back then and you can never go wrong with any of those. As far as makeup goes, you can put on as much as possible. Put on bright color shades on your lips, eyes, and cheeks. You can take old pictures of Madonna and copy her makeup style. If you truly want to dress as the 1980s on Halloween, just copy Madonna's 1980s look. She was in the middle of it all back then.

Everybody will be looking at you on Halloween because you will be the talk of the town with your unique and nostalgic style. So live it up because you can only relive the 1980s once a year. Get your friends to dress up from the 1980s. You can have your own little 80s theme party for Halloween. You will have lots of fun.
