1980's Music Review - Def Leppard Pyromania - Album Review
Pyromania was Def Leppard's third album coming after On Through the Night released in 1980 and High 'n Dry released in 1981. Pyromania's lead single Photograph dominated the US Album Rock Charts for six weeks and became the most requested video on MTV. Pyromania sold over ten million copies in the United States alone.
Too Late for Love, Foolin' and Billy's Got a Gun are filled with multi-layered, harmonic vocals, rhythmic drums, melodic guitar and added sound effects that make these songs hard rock hits. Rock of Ages, Rock Rock ('Til You Drop) and Action! Not Words are classic, have fun, feel good rock songs. Stagefright, Die Hard the Hunter and Comin' Under Fire have hard hitting lyrics and drums with impressive guitar riffs and added sound effects making these great heavy metal songs.
Great music draws you in, whether it be by the lyrics, the music or both and that is what Def Leppard's Pyromania does. It draws you in and makes you want to hear more. I still hear Photograph, Too Late for Love, Rock Rock ('Til You Drop), Rock of Ages and Foolin' on rock stations proving that great rock songs never die. Def Leppard's Pyromania is truly a great classic, hard rock album that I recommend to anyone who enjoys rockin' out.
