1984 Movie Review: Starman is Emotionally Stirring
Starman is a Beautiful Movie and Touches on a Number of Subjects
This movie, directed by John carpenter, was made in 1984 and stars Jeff Bridges as Starman and Karen Allen as Jenny Hayden.
A space probe was launched into the galaxy with a message from the United States.
It included 'Greetings' In fifty-four languages. The purpose of this was to contact any extraterrestrial life that may exist and invite them to visit us here on Earth.
Starman accepts this invitation and comes down to Earth. On earth he meets young Jenny Hayden, whose husband has passed away. Looking around her house he transforms himself to look exactly as her husband.
Instead of being welcomed to earth as he expected he would; the government was after him.
He and Jenny Hayden start on an adventure road trip to get to Arizona after Starman makes her, but she has no idea where she is going.
This movie can be scary at times, as you do not know what to expect, and then it lures you into understanding. He possesses magical 'pebbles' of which he can win riches at Casino's, walk through fire and even bring back the dead to life.
As they travel together, they start to fall in love. It is an amazing feeling when you watch this movie, because you start to see another's perspective of our planet and our ways, it opens up your mind.
I feel that every aspect of this movie brings it together to show many different things Defying authority, learning love, learning our ways and being appreciate of what we have.
As Starman says, "Shall I tell you what I find beautiful about you? You are at your very best when things are worst." And it's true. Whenever things get bad we bring ourselves up to deal with it, and throw aside the anything else.
Starman is a beautiful film and I recommend you watch it, fall in love with the story and let your heart grow as you suddenly remember what life is about.
